Evidence suggests there may be some validity to the allegations made by Mr. Tasi. Anchorage Police Department seems to encourage shooting of Samoans. For example, Anchorage Police Officer Shaun Henry shot 17 year old Elvis Tuata in June 2009 for allegedly aiming a BB gun at something. The Anchorage Police Department then named Officer Henry as "Officer of the Year" for 2009. They said he "routinely sets the example for others to emulate." It appears with that encouragement that other Anchorage Police Officers are indeed emulating Officer Henry. Now an Anchorage Police Department Officer has killed Shane Tasi who allegedly held a "stick." Perhaps this Officer is bucking for "Officer of the Year" by emulating Officer Henry. It turns out Officer Henry was previously a cop in San Diego, where he was involved in 2 shooting (one fatal) before coming to Anchorage Alaska, and shooting Elvis Tuata. Officer Henry lists his occupation as "Urban Trash Collector" on the social networking pages. I guess he's collecting what he perceives as Samoan trash. It does appear that shooting Samoans is encouraged by Anchorage Police Department. I think they're proud of it. Otherwise why would they make Officer Shaun Henry "Officer of the Year" after shooting a 17 year old Samoan kid who had a BB gun? APD doesn't care if the Samoan community doesn't like it. After all. What can they do about it? Right now they're laughing, and plotting to kill the next one, who could be you, or yours. And there's nothing you can do about it. Welcome to Anchorage.

You'll feel silly when you see a picture of the officer who shot him.

Should have shot him in da nutz, then at least he couldn't make any more welfare babies. How stupid was this guy to think nothing would happen coming at a cop waving a stick like a lunatic. Id have emptied the gun into him.

If he was involved with crips then I am glad he got a piece of lead !! Lock 'em up Lock 'em up Put 'em in monkey cages. Any one stupid enough to worship a color should be put in a cage like a brainless animal - a pig - an azzz eating monkey. Crips are people waiting to go live in a cage so they can experience their new boyfriend long weiner. They will be able to fly the blue snot rags at each other with a hot dog in their mouths. Pucker up punk crips and enjoy your cages. You look real tuff after you've turned into Ru Paul in your animal monkey cages.

ATTENTION: All residents of Anchorage, Alaska. Please come out and support the Polynesian Community rally held this Saturday, July 7th, 2012. This rally is in response to the unjust treatment of many of our Polynesian brothers like Shane Tasi and other minorities by law enforcement due to their "intimidating" presence and racial profiling. We are demanding that better police protocols be implemented immediately on shooting to disarm versus shooting to kill. The Polynesian Community will not remain silent on this issue. Instead, we will stand together as ONE people, ONE voice, ONE cause!

FYI. Shane had no crime expressing who he really was. To the two above comments, you obviously didn`t know the guy he truly was. Yes, he`s made mistakes in his life, but who doesn`t ? For your information, he was NOT a crip. It just so happened to be his favorite color was blue, but he was not a gang banger. He was a family oriented, all around funny, happy go lucky kinda guy. If you happened to run into him at the wrong place at the wrong time, you got the wrong impression of him. He was a father figure to his sons and a great role model to his daughter. Please let Him rest in Peace and forget all of that nonsense of Crip this, and pumping led into his system. Regardless of his character, he did NOT deserve to die the way he did. His family deserved to bid their farewells to him properly at his old age and this was NOT the way to do it. Rest in Love our NEW Angel Shane Paulo Tasi. We love you !

If you dont wanna die, then dont run towards a Peace Officer belligerently waving a stick wiyh the intention to beat his f-ing head in with it you piece of Polynesian dung. Im from Cali originally and whenever a piece of crap Mexican gang banger gets blown away by a cop for the same exact reason, the Mexican communiyy pours out begging for justice. What justice? To allow idiots to attack cops? You slime balls are all the same. You never stand up against your own when they commit acts of violence or criminal acts, but by hod, when they get incarcerated or killed by law enforcement you are quick to call it injustice. Keep it up, and you're all gonna end up with the same fate in Anchorage if you dont stop your ways you morons.

Are you serious??! I happened to know Shane and he was a great family man. Sure he made some mistakes in the PAST but that gives you no reason to say "good riddance" or "he deserved it" His mind wasn't clear when he had the stick okay?! Oh and FYI he loved his kids they aren't "welfare kids" also another thing those who think you "know" him did you know he died exactly ONE DAY after he got married? I should know I was there! So before you go criticizing people know the facts first I don't care if this was a while ago but this hurt the family moooooore than any of you obnoxious people can comprehend , and now there is a single mother with three kids without a father out there ... SO DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER or in your case don't judge by a news story or something you found on Google and the newspaper
