Solved the mystery...Because 'This Train' was sung in England, thought at first Sister Rosetta Tharpe was saying, "This train don't pull no wankers". But just noticed Sister Rosetta Tharpe is winking when saying that, so the lyrics are, like a comment below the video pointed out, "This train don't pull no winkers". Not wankers.

Here it is (although first said "Seeing pro-marijuana propaganda in the Statesman is about as...."); the article being in the Statesman was what was so irritating. Pro-marijuana could be expected in the San Francisco Chronicle, Seattle Times, or Denver Post, but to see it being pushed here is very disappointing.

To the Editor:

Seeing pro-marijuana propaganda is about as irritating as watching old people (like me) eat ice cream ("Safety and education campaign must precede pot sales," West Views, March 17).

Predictably, the article emphasizes Colorado and Washington's tax revenue windfall following their legalizing "recreational" marijuana, with public education ad campaigns - as with alcohol - for regulation. However, "Don't Drive Drunk" ad campaigns haven't stopped DUI; moreover, the carnage continues despite decades of court-ordered AA meetings. Far more severe laws are needed to deter DUI instead.

As for the tax revenue, Noam Chomsky inadvertently debunks that idea when explaining how the U.S tax and transfer system fails miserably in comparison to all other industrialized countries in reducing poverty ("Understanding Power;" Chapter 10; footnote 28). So it's illogical to assert tax revenue is needed from a harmful psychotropic drug prone to abuse.

Jerry Garcia, of the folk/rock band The Grateful Dead, once said (regarding voting Democrat or Republican): "If you're choosing the lesser of two evils, you're still choosing evil." That applies to the alcohol/marijuana comparison as well, since Garcia, after years of glorifying substance abuse, died of a heart attack in a rehab center when trying to overcome addiction.
