The closing of this road is only for one reason, and that is for the Redevelopment of Speedway. When Allison's was part of GM this was brought up many times and never followed through. It didn't seem to be important, but now that Speedway has this big redevelopment going on, it has suddenly reappeared
It isn't about safety. If it was they would be closing Cossell and 10th around Allisons because of safety issues. Once again it is about politics.
