The majority of Papa John's franchises are independently owned and operated. Decisions on menu prices and benefit options are made by the individual owner, not by John Schnatter.

In the restaurant industry if expenses go up then costs will be cut elsewhere to make up the difference. Anyone who runs their restaurant with the mentality that $0.14 per customer is no big deal is not going to be in business very long.
