Used to rock it out & get my groove on back in the day at the Midnight Sun on Hearon Circle...my day being the late 70's just at the cusp of disco. Anyone else remember hanging out there?

I used to hang out at the Midnight Sun in the early to mid-1970s. A few years later, I recall someone named George running the place. I can't recall his last name, but I believe it began with an R. I much preferred it to O'Sullivan's, where disco was the music of choice. I also used to hang out at The Andiron.
Good times.

I used to go there back in mid 70's when I lived in that area. Strange thing, haven't thought about it in years, but I had a dream last night and I was there partying again :)

Dreams are weird, but it made me want to look it up. I would imagine it's long closed, but wondered when it did, or if by some chance it still exists.

Anyone know?
Thanks,
JM

PS: Used to go to a dance joint called the LoadingDock too. Anyone remember that?

Boy I remember those days. I had more fun at the Andiron than I did at the Midnight Sun. Fun memories...

Yea, the glass see-thru dance floor at the Loading Dock, I knew there was something I was forgetting. And now that you queued my memory, it seems like it was made up of many squares, and with the lights underneath changing colors. Or was I doing too many drugs back then?:D

I remember the Midnight Sun as I worked there as a cocktail waitress in 1994-1976. I probably waited on some of you. I remember the leg contest which really was much more than that. No, I never danced in it. Does anyone recall the manager of the club? It was Mickey Huey (not sure on the spelling). He was friends with George and Petro. Anyone knows how Mickey is doing?

It was an adventure working there and I have many memories of those times...

yea the midnight sun, rembe seing Kansas play there in 1970 or so. disco was about to take over the Spartanburg seen at that time, never fit in the disco craze, still today into the early southern rock, lots of MTB guys would jam there after hours, would wait till they showed up brcause the tucker boys always had the best smoke in Spartanburg county..
