you are another dumbbell. criminal background checks are EXPEDIENT. what about people applying for positions to work with children? you need to background check them because of the reality of child molesters.That's why it doesn't pay to lead a life of crime. No employer should be expected to put their business at risk. If a person wants to throw their life away, that's their business but with that come consequences for those actions.
Great, just what we need. More frivolous lawsuits and as if the courts aren't tied up as it is.
but if a child molester has done time for a crime against a child and is let out of jail (well, my opinion is that he should have been killed; but my opinion does not matter no more then my ass hole.) he is considered to have done his time and paid the price for the crime... does not mean he can't have ANY job? what about a job feeding crocodiles? but this is not what this particular case is about.

and just because someone does not have a criminal record does not mean they are not criminals or inclined to commit a criminal act...
