Because there are three options:
1. Wheel tax, which none of you obviously want.
2. Property tax, which only a few more of you seem to want.
3. And a cut to the county budget, which will likely cause services such as the local volunteer fire departments to close. Which will drive your insurance rates up--a pleasant thought for when your house is burning.
The county should have given its employees insurance long ago. This is a White County issue, not an Obama issue. If you are looking for regret here, you won't find it.

Untrue. One department said they'd rather not have it but maybe a discussion took place no funding has ever been seriously discussed until now that our great president has brought this issue to the forefront which should have been done years ago.Face it its only right that our county employees have affordable insurance sure do I like the numbers? No.But its more than just numbers its people's lives their security in knowing that when they go to the hospital they won't be slighted in care or even refused.I voted for Mr. Obama and damn proud of it GW about had this country on its knees begging for mercy he's the worst president in history worse that Carter and Hoover jmho.Look at it this way.The sheriff dept works for you.The hwy dept works for you.The courthouse employees work for you.Next time you see one of them why not just say thank you for the job you're doing you'd expect no less from your boss where you work.If someone was beating your door down at 2 in the am and a deputy showed up and jailed someone that was about to rob or kill you I bet you'd say thanks.i'm also tired of you damn republicans downing us the American people don't agree with you on much so the way I see it you losers need to work on your own image and quit running us down we're in charge and you're on the sideline like little sissy waterboys so you need to do something and quit running down the people that are actually getting things done.Maybe you'll learn a lesson and instead of fighting wars not needed and getting thousands of Our soldiers killed and millions of innocent Iraqi's killed slaughtered and mamed and breaking the banking system and causing stock market crashes you'll do the right things if you ever get in power again but as of recent you don't have anything to brag about.People lets get this wheel tax done lets get our employees insured its not about numbers its about our people.I might be for not taxing high school kids or college kids with vehicles driving back and forth to school they're trying to better themselves and will contribute more in the future as a result of it.Lets get it done and forget about it.

The things yall don't realize is that the hospitals want to have a general health care for everyone. Because now they get paid nothing for these folks come to the hospital with no insurance. At least this way they will get some money for their services instead of no money.
Granted it will on be change on the dollar but it beats nothing on the dollar.
And at least this way every body gets a fair shake at health care.\As far as the county employees go its probable 600 bucks amonth to cover each employee out of their pocket. And Im sure most county employees don't make that kinda money

Oh yeah, everybody gets to buy health insurance. Here's the catch. You will be buying health insurance from health insurance companies who get to set the rates you will be charged and you are still required by law to purchase at the determined rate. If the rate goes thru the roof you art still required to purchase or pay the penalty. Couple that with the fact the insurance industry gets to choose how little they pay to your health care providers. The medical industry functions like any other industry. Hospitals have to make a profit or they close. The insurance industry benefits by making it as difficult as possible for you to receive health care. That is the real position Obama has put us in. So pay up America, you will have have health insurance. That is not necessarily the case for "health care." The two are not the same and many are about to learn that fact the hard way. Enjoy your very expensive health insurance but you better hope you do not get sick.

So are you really wanting to argue who is at fault for the fall of the economy or who took the blame for it? This is such an old argument and you are still quoting crap that Obama ran off his election on. It is really disheartening that folks take this stuff at face value. Well if it was said in a paid endorsement it must be true.

Take some time and research this... Before Obama became President what did he have his hands in? Do you remember braggart lines of , "Community Organizer"? Do you know what that consisted of? Allow me to explain this to you. Back BEFORE the mortgage industry collapsed, Obama got tired of the slums in Chicago. So many folks weren't able to buy homes because they had no credit, bad credit, or low income. This meant a lot of folks were pushed into the slums. Obama and others decided these folks deserved a home. He began a "thug" mentality to force banks to finance these homes although folks didn't meet guidelines. He even went so far to advise folks to trash the grounds of the banks who refused to do the loans. Now, the argument for your side is that he had just a small role in this matter. My argument is that he was involved PERIOD.

Redlining is the act of singling out a geographic area and denying anyone in that area credit just because they live in that area. Usually can be associated with the type of person who lives in that area. The slums of Chicago were an area that reportedly had been redlined by banks. Using our constitution to back them, a law firm who employed Barack Obama as a young lawyer filed a massive lawsuit against Citibank forcing them to give mortgages out even when the folks didn't qualify.

Now, once that happened the flood gates opened. A new way to make money for mortgage companies was then the catalyst. This is where everyone regardless of credit, down payments, jobs and income started buying homes. Banks then increased their profits by justifying these folks as high risk. Saying you can have the home, we will get you in it, but in 3-5 years your interest rate will double and so will your payments.

Common sense should prevail. During this time period they should have a chance to fix the credit, work at the same job, save some money and REFINANCE the home before that time arrived. But the majority didn't. Instead, they once again looked to the government and blamed the government for their own selfish ideas. They wanted a home, didn't earn the home, got the home, then did nothing to keep it.

THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH GEORGE W BUSH ... HE JUST HAPPENED TO BE THE PRESIDENT WHEN THESE LOW LIFE, LAZY, GOOD FOR NOTHING FOLKS WELCHED ON THE MORTGAGES THEY BEGGED AND EVEN SUED MAJOR BANKS TO GET. Mortgage companies then started going under with foreclosures.

How do you put that back on Republicans?

George Bush went out of office in a bad way, but arguably many think Obama could go down as the worst President ever. So before you cast your ballot for worst let's see what the fall out is from all that he has already undertaken.

As far as everyone is entitled to insurance. LMAO why? I know plenty who won't work a job long enough to get insurance through an employer, why do they deserve insurance? Insurance isn't an American freedom. This mentality is what caused the collapse of the mortgage industry. Obamacare is a terrible mess and it is going to cost a fortune. Prime rate has been rock bottom for over 3 years, we WILL have to have inflation to overcome the current market. When it hits, it will hit hard. The mortgage collapse, NAFTA and now Obamacare. Can you see the trend? LOOK AT THE WHOLE PICTURE!!

Wrong, my rates already went up to cover the changes and my benefits decreased significantly. Everyone in the system? Now that is funny. How does everyone get in the system? If they can't afford it the government will pay for it with vouchers, so we as a society will be taxed more to pay for it. When vouchers are used, the company the employee works for will be fined thousands of dollars. BANKRUPTCY!

You are crazy if you think hospitals and doctors like this. They already know and have felt the impact of what is coming. Someone sitting behind a desk 500 miles away from you will be deciding if you receive a certain treatment, care, test or medicine.

Option 4:

Just opt out. When they try and levy a fine just don't pay it. What are they going to do about it. Put the entire country in jail. Show them our middle fingers and tell them we have had enough.

And to those less informed the hospital gets paid better when uninsured people come in over those with gov't insurance. The hospitals have charities that pay the bills for the uninsured. The gov't insurances only pay wholesale prices, the hospital makes no profit. There are more and more facilities opening that do not except any form of gov't insurance. They can provide the same services for less money because the gov't insurance sets the rates for procedures at an inflated level, then only pay a percentage of the rates they set. This allows the private companies to raise their rates to keep up with the gov't.

Outlaw insurance. The price of everything will get cut in half. A $100,000.00 house will only cost 50,000.00, put the rest in your pocket. If, and I mean if,a disaster occurs you have money in the bank to rebuild. If you get sick you take the 10,000.00 a year you pay for insurance and pay the doctor, he'll only have to charge half of what your paying know because he doesn't have to tithe the insurance gods either. There should be no law forcing us to bet on failure.

i'm glad to see people are starting to get it, Obama care is nothing more than LIFE TAX! Insurance is a for-profit business, and it has just become law we must purchase this intangible product/service from this corporation, or be fined as a criminal. Welcome to Citizens United. What does insurance have to do with my health? it seems to me its no more than a third party idea that someone schemed up to make a buck, wait that's a middleman. Damnit we just got screwed on the healthcare deal.and hey good luck refusing to pay, the gov't already said the fine is coming out of your tax return.
how is anyone supposed to get a start in this world if your born owing a company for insurance?
Refuse birth certificate? and SSC? What to do we're all just animals trying to make it, the government is starting to seem more and more like institutionalized thuggary.

Asking this group to do some research is a bit like asking a preschooler to read and understand Shakespeare. They might pronounce the words but the meaning just flies right on by. Unless of course. it is the latest work on marijuana research. For some reason many seem to up on that topic. LOL

Mr tth.People don't have time to stay on topix all the time.Like you do.In 2001 GWB had a 6 trillion dollar surplus left over from the Clinton policies. The congressional budget office had surpluses running indefinite if the Clinton policies were left in place. But Bush ran through the surplus quickly.69 percent say Bush is responsible for the bad economy including 49 percent of republicans.Indeed the country is still reeling from Bush's disastrous stewardship. His irresponsible tax cuts and deregulatory policies have contributed to the extremely slow recovery.Bush deregulated wall street allowing risky trades by financial institutions that led to the financial melt down and plunged us in to the great recession. He cut taxes for the wealthy that resulted in 2.5 trillion less taxes in the last decade that still remain the driving factor of the national debt.Bush ran up a tab of about 13 trillion and still growing over needless wars that got thousands of young American soldiers killed and millions of Iraqi's innocent lives wasted. Not to mention the big lie he told about wmd's to justify his actions along with lining his buddie's pockets at Halliburton and Enron.Bush screwed homeowners by bailing out the banks and the mortgage holders and putting the homeowner on the street with no help.I could go on but I think thats enough to prove its Bush's fault.

Yeah you democrats like to brag about that so called surplus. First of all, the effects of changes that an administration makes are not truly felt for at least a couple of years. It WAS the Clinton administration that forced banks to loan to folks w/ Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Shall I bring up Community Reinvestment Act? Wow those programs designed to create home ownership for ANYONE regardless of income or credit history to buy a home. It wasn't until Bush was in office that we felt the results of all that. Say what you will it is the truth. Clinton put all the wheels in place and Bush INHERITED the mess.

If a government has a surplus that means they are spending less than they are taking in right? That is the OPPOSITE of a stimulus. That means we are going backwards instead of forward but outward appearance of a trade surplus makes it look good on the surface.

With the surplus, that actually means that the government was taking money from the private sector but was not putting the money back out into the economy. That means the private sector was over supporting the government. In the mean time the private sector was spending more money than they made to compensate for no money being put back into the private sector which means the private sector was running in a deficit so the government could have a surplus.

That is what exploded. The private sector could not keep up with the demands. Just look at the history of savings rates for the private sector from 1987 to 2005 then also look at their debt. That debt is mostly made up of real estate. So here we go, folks spending money they don't have and that started during Clinton administration under his guidance and false promises of a balanced economy.

I could take every thing you have said and strip it down. If you think about it hard enough you will see. It was all a fake sense of balance and control in government. What looks like a prime market and perfect plan is actually what led to the recession. I would never trade a few good years for 20 bad. I'd take 20 mediocre years anytime.

The war is a whole other topic and I will only say, hundreds of thousands died at the hands of the foreign government. Did U.S. have to get involved? Not for me to say but I am proud that Saddam is gone and when I saw the news cast of his people rolling his head from his famous statue down the streets of their town and chanting they Love U.S.A. I was proud we could help set them free. Now that the war has dragged on they just want us gone but it doesn't work that way. As far as WMD I doubt you know any more about that than I do. I personally think he was given wrong information just my own belief. I further think after 9-11 we needed to show our force and I don't have a problem with our attack on them. I just think it needs to end.

Finally, about who people blame for stuff. Well, I see it like this. If you only listen to what you want to hear you will never open your mind to the truth. I LOVED Clinton. I loved his years in office. I still think he is the cat's meow. But, the truth is his administration set us up for what we are living in now. So, would I want him back? NO WAY!! Sure people blame Bush and he deserves a lot of blame for certain things, but using democrats favorite word he INHERITED a ton of crap and took the fall for what Clinton started. Think about it, administration changes affect the economy down the road, what is down the road for Clinton?

I've never been fully convinced that a six trillion dollar surplus ever even existed.Furthermore Clinton had numerous opportunities to kill Bin Laden and failed.911 was what caused all the problems.

So it was all Clinton's fault.
