if you like a sheriff that gives tickets to volunteer firemen responding to fire calls he's probably ok.what if your families lives were in danger due to a fire and a cop pulls over the fire man that was coming to save your life.to me thats just not right.

oddie does his job if you are speeding then you need to be ticketed,,did you have water, bucket and a ladder for proof or just a license plate,,alot of these vf run around showing off for no valid reason, unless you are true emergency vehicle you have no valid reason to speed

Giving fire fighters tickets?? Let me educate you for a moment... The Sheriff has stipulated/mandated that ANYONE responding 33 traffic (emergency) in ANY vehicle be it a patrol car, ambulance, fire truck, pov,or, rescue squad the ALLOWED speed over the posted is TEN MPH..PERIOD... ZERO tolerance for this rule NO exceptions! Now, I'm not saying they do or don't, the fact about the tickets is real and warranted I'm sure. Imagine this, you get a call for a house fire, you respond in your car as 33 traffic, your on Hwy.111 N.B. running 90 in a 45 MPH zone...you blow a tire, someone pulls out in front of you can you stop? I HIGHLY doubt it. If a Fire Fighter got a ticket rest assured it was warranted. DUE REGARD is the key!

State law mandates that emergency vehicles must not exceed posted speed limit more than 10 miles per hour.Just because you have a red light doesn't mean you own the road.

Some of the firemen around here thinks they should be able to run as fast as they like. What OS did was tell them that there was a law that said 10 miles over and that the law. This stand for his cars in his dept, this is for the safety of the people.
He try to may it saver around here for the people and some just like to cry.

Talk about the people your responding to in an emergency situation what about all the people you put in danger running them off the road going to a hay bale on fire? You can always tell when a subject gets started who started it. Shane Smith get over yourself. Don't make the rest of the Volunteer Firemen look bad because you've got a grudge going. Sick of it.

I think hes awesome as a sheriff. I always heard when he was a trooper that he would give his own mother a ticket if she was speeding. Well this is what we need in Sparta. Someone who treats all fairly. If you are hating on Mr. Shoupe, start obeying the rules and he wont have to ticket you or arrest you. Laws are made for a reason!! I for one am glad hes our sheriff. And I think he will get it again. If you dont plan on obeying the laws, you might as well start picking up trash along side the road!! That way youll know how to do it when the time comes. This is to the JUDGES: when repeat offenders are sent back into court, do something to them to make them learn from their misstakes, dont baby them...stick it to them and maybe they will realize they need to stop.

In general everyone won't agree with giving tickets to firemen .This is a legitimate campaign topic.this will be put before the people of white county and we'll see what they think not just a few yankee republicans on topix.
