i have ben lomand tv,phone and internet!and its just my opinion but they are the rudest company!acting like theyre the power company!dont send out notices wont work with you on the bill!just all around not helpful!but if you lose your tv phone or whatever they wont compenssate or prorate your bill!but if you owe and its the deaadline bam!30 dollar reconnect! i just think it is a small cable company and it really would be in theyre best interest to help out the guy who lives paycheck to paycheck!i hope everyone goes to cell phones and charter!that'll show them that they being a smaller company cant do people the way they do!even charter doesnt do that!cuz they know better!but thats just my opinion we're stuck with caney fork and they're rate hikes but we are not stuck with ben lomand!

Since When is Telephone, Internet, and Pay TV a necessity? If you are having trouble paying those bills maybe you need to shut part of them off. Contrary to what our Government in Washington DC is telling you no one owes you anything. You do not have a right to free services at the expense of those that do pay.

On the other hand as Someone who also has had Ben Lomand services turned off due to me forgetting to pay the bill, I can understand the frustration. I mean they are a Telephone, Internet and Pay TV provider couldn't they at least give a Courtesy call, e-mail or a flash a notice across the screen 1 day before shut off. Even Dish Network does that.

Drop some of the stuff you can't afford & quit whining. You don't have a god given right to watch tv or surf the internet.

You actually came on this website to b*tch about Ben Lomand? I've had their phone and internet service for over 3 years and they are great.

So they cut you off when you don't pay your bill? Is that a big surprise to you?

Pay your bill on time, you deadbeat. Then you won't get cut off. Idiot.

i had ben lomand for almost 2 years and it is the worst service i have ever had!! in them 2 years i was never late on my bill not even once so dont try and say anything about i got bad service because i didnt wanna pay the bill..i paid $110.00 a month for phone internet and tv do the math and i paid over $2,600.00 for the worst service and the people there are rude!! it took them 3 tries (equaling 1 month of internet service i had to pay for but didnt receive)to finally get the internet to work with my wireless router which ended up being their fault because they gave me the wrong box set up for wireless internet..the tv would go in and out worse then satelite in a storm..had to sign a 1 yr contract all because i had internet!! so BL Hater your not the only one who has trouble with it my sister got ben lomand and didnt listen to my warnings and hates it too she has nothing but trouble with them as well my mom had it and she had alot of problems with her internet never working...thank goodness im done with them i will never have ben lomand again!!

Anyone who thinks Ben Lomand is bad has never had to deal with Charter or Comcast. Their prices are a little high but they provide extensive services in a rural area that cable companies would never be willing to run lines to.

I see people blaming Ben Lomand for a variety of technical problems (wireless router is your responsibility, buddy) and for failing to pay their bill on time. Just keep blaming somebody else and see where it gets you.

Also funny to see an anti-government comment, seeing how Ben Lomand is a telephone co-operative put together as part of rural utilities legislation that also provided for things like the TVA.

Don't get me wrong I have had all of the other providers and Ben Lomand has them beat hands down. The Picture quality is superb to the others and the Channel line up is excellent. I also like i am dealing with someone local and not in India.
My one and only complaint is the Courtesy call, all the other providers send a friendly reminders over the screen or a phone call and being they are 1st and foremost a telephone company if wouldn't cost anything to make a simple phone call before they just a rudely cut you off.

What you do not realize is that most people do NOT forget to pay their bill...most of them wait til the last possible moment. You get your bill 2 weeks before it is due...if you cannot remember to pay a bill for 2 whole weeks then you need to do what I do...automatic bank draft.
As far as customer service..I have phone, cable, internet, and have had absolutely no problem.
Sucks for the person who they gave the wrong 'box' to. But I am still trying to figure out what kind of box your wireless router was supposed to plug into. Mine plugs directly into the wall LAN outlet. They didn't give me anything to 'plug my router into'

Any company will cut you off if you do not pay your bill, do not act like charter, dish or direct will not cut you off if you do not pay. They dont do late notices to save paper and they do not have the man power to call everyone who is about to get cut off. The bottom line is you are a grown up and paying bills in a timely manner is a part of being all grown up. Name another company that you can call when you have trouble and they come out that day and not even charge you. Name another company that does all local Tech Support? That is what I thought, at least when you do have trouble you can get someone quick and you can understand what they are saying. I would be willing to bet whoever said they did not give them the correct box for his 3rd party wireless router to work is full of crap. Those 3rd party routers work with any broadband cable or DSL. They do not have a DSL modem or router that will not work with a 3rd party wireless router. If you dont like them go give your money to the big boys and see how that works out for you, Ben Lomand puts a ton of money back into the local communities, tell me how much Charter gives back? That is what I thought, stop blaming other people because you are either to lazy or not responsible enough to pay your bills on time!

no one said the other do not cut you off for non payment. But Charter makes a reminder call. and Dish Network Not only calls you but also flashes a notice on the screen and e-mails you before a disconnect. I am not asking for anything free but it is as easy for them to make a courtesy call as it is to flip a switch and shut someone off. I Love Ben Lomand and am happy with the service it is just this one thing. I am making this recommendation as a member of the CO-OP please make a courtesy call before disconnecting to save the money of your members.
