Kudos to whoever opened Antebellum on the square in Sparta. I've looked at that location for the last few years, wishing I had the nuts to open a sports bar there.

I just couldn't convince myself that it would work. I wish the new owners the best of luck. It's going to be a tough go in a town like Sparta.

Really hope you make it. I'll be in next time I'm in town.

I spoke to an employee there. Sounds like it is going to be a nice place to eat, professional chefs, yes it may be a little pricey but if it is good food it is worth it! Best of luck to Antebellum!

I hope we all can support them.

If it's too expensive for you, that's ok. You eat your Blue Bell from WalMart and those of us who can afford it will not miss you.

And that attitude is EXACTLY why this business will never make it.

Looks like everyone didn't care for that. But it's all about choices. I'd really like a place that I can go with my wife and/or friends and not have to deal with Billy Bob and Thelma Lou and their 6 screaming kids.

Looks like this might be the place. They'll get my business all the time. Plus, when I have friends or business associates in town, it looks like a place I'd be proud to bring them.

I'm really sorry if that offends you Sparta folk... wait, no, I'm not sorry. Enjoy WalMart and McDonalds with your brood.

You wont be going there long with friends and your (business associates lol). Perfect place to put a rest. Right in the dead part of town. DUHR !

I'm guessing we won't be seeing you there.

That's ok. I'm sure their business plan allows for that.

I'll be happy to sit down and order a meal in a place where the food doesn't start out frozen and goes directly into the deep fryer.

As far as location goes, where would suggest that someone open a decent restaurant in Sparta? In the middle of the business district seems reasonable.

What would your suggestion be?

Probabl wont be seeing me there. I was there once already. I'm smarter with my money than to go again. How do you know it isn't frozen and goes straight in the deep fryer? Anywhere on the west side of town would have been better. The east side is dead.

Well, fortunately I don't have a problem with a $20 meal for one or $50+ for me and my wife. I'm pretty sure that's what they are looking for. I'm not looking for the 2 for $20 meal deals.

As to location... the east side of Sparta and the west side of Sparta are only a half mile apart at the most. Folks drive to Cookeville for a good restaurant. I'm sure 1/2 mile won't kill any business.

How do I know it ain't frozen? I haven't eaten there yet, but once I do I will know. I can taste the difference. It isn't that difficult. There are other ways to cook food other than a deep fryer.

I visited the place and I am excited about it...I wasn't greeted at all and when I asked a question about the menu, I got a really hateful answer. I pray that the owner will see the rude behavior of the staff because it would be wonderful to have that nice place stay open.

I am amazed at the people in town that dont want anything new or nice this includes good jobs.It cost 10 bucks to eat at huddle house and the food sucks and its always full so if the food is good and you get plenty of it it should make it and then it wont be dead over there.
