It's sad to find out that Missouri is considered to be the worst state for laws to protect landlords. As it stands it is all in the favor for the renter who can sit in a house for over 6 months without paying rent and their is nothing I can go about it. By going thru the process and taking them to court they have all the time on their side. They had the nerve to tell me ahead of time that they were going to do this. Getting a judgment while costing me attorney fees and court costs that are included in judgement I will never see. Pretty much all the laws are on their side.
*Joshua and Amber Miloszewski * owe me well over $4500.!!!!
I just pray that wherever they go to they don't do this to someone else.

I hear you landlord. A friend of mine that owns rentals has ran into this before. He's thankful that this has not happened in a long time but yeah, it sounds like a real pain in the butt. I'd almost consider drug testing if I were to rent homes haha

It is renters like this that made me raise my deposits. I hated doing that because it hurts younger families, but we do what we have to do.

I can understand and sympathize with landlords and their problems with renters as my Family had rental properties previously. However, like any issue, there are two sides to the story. How about these leasing Companies (not individual, private landlords) that use any tiny excuse to refuse to return a renter's deposit when there is no reason to refuse to refund it ? Our Grandson encountered this with athomehere in Springfield when he completed his degree and moved to take a job in another City. Since we were co-signers on the lease to get him started we went to the Apartment (the location of which was poorly maintained by athomehere) after all his things were moved out we went there and cleaned and went over the place meticulously....top to bottom and it was in better shape than when he moved in. The athomehere bozos then refused the return of the $400 deposit and refused to give any reason. They treat that deposit like extra profit and there is no recourse for the ripped-off tenant.
