Well, I'm new here and may be less than fully informed, but it seems to me that anything that could improve the traffic through Yelm will be more than appreciated.
Especially since the Wal-Mart got shoved through despite the efforts of citizens who have some idea of what it's like to get from the middle school to safeway during that magic time of the day known as 'rush hour'.

I hope that they do something to help traffic in Yelm. When I moved there I had no idea what the traffic during the week was like until AFTER I bought the house- had I known the truth about how bad it could get even on a Saturday morning, I may have thought twice....I would truly appreciate the improvement!!!

The traffic in Yelm is getting worse, too many developements have been approved by the council without thought to the already congested roads here. Water issues are a problem, we don't have enough water ressources for all the new commercial and private deveopment. Thank Mayor Harding and City Council for this mess. Since the Mayor took over, it has gotten so much worse!

It may get a hearing, yet there is no construction funding & not likely to be with a state deficit:

Even with a new center turn lane traffic is backed up on Yelm Ave. West inbound from the main light to Ramtha's School (over 2 miles) after 3pm every Thursday & Friday. As I said many years ago, adding a turn lane will do little to alleviate traffic; they should have gone to 5 lanes, as with only adding a center turn lane, there is still only one lane in and one lane out of town - no capacity increase!

There is no funding for the loop, and yet the city continued to approved more houseing, etc. This town is a joke and we are paying for it!
