The Courant reports anything to do with any police officer anywhere. They should publish the stories of their own employees who beat their wives and children.

Ok so they shoved each other and this gets in news print?! There are a lot of things happening in Connecticut that are of more importance to the public than these two shoving each other! Are you guys bored?!

What is the world becoming? Why is the Courant publishing such trash? Isn't there any news to report? Maybe some feel good stories to tell? Blaaaaghhhh

I for one am glad this is in the news. I live in the town and if my spouse and I were arrested it would be in the paper why should a police officer be treated any different?

Yes, You would be in the Police Blotter but would the paper make a big article about your Domestic Dispute???? Ask yourself that. Everyone has their own family issues and just because Officer Schneider is a cop he should not be dragged through the mud. You don't know the circumstances so please don't think the worst. Pray they make their family work things out and have peace. They have children and a loving family to think about.(This is someone who knows the circumstances and knows what the situation truly is....Don't believe everything you read in the paper)

Would it be an article this big? I doubt it. It would probably be in your weekly newspaper. Would they list you or your husbands occupation? I doubt that too. Get a life, everyone always wants the police to be treated the same as everyone else but I don't see everyone else getting a large article for a misdemeanor domestic.

I tend to agree with the majority opinion here that this is not what I would call a very newsworthy story. Apparently, no one was hurt and there were no shots fired I understand that once it becomes physical the law is clear; one or more parties are getting arrested, but leave it at that and let people move on.

I'm sure it was more than just shoving but they are not letting on since he is a cop. Does he have a violent past? People who know him know the answer.

WOW - Southington Resident who knows so much! Let me set the record straight for you! You obviously have NO CLUE of Officer Schneider's character at all! I have known him ALL OF MY LIFE and he is a good cop, a good husband, a good father, and a good person with a huge heart!!!!!! You obviously have much animosity for David to lash out with such a bold, negative response over a domestic dispute! What happened? Did you sit on the bench while David played varsity football? You must be jealous or perfect!! Did he arrest you and you're trying to get back at him? So, you know, David applied 6 times to become a Southington police officer - surely his affiliation didn't help him in getting on the force! And, he has never hit a woman - not his current wife and not his ex-wife! Oh and by the way perfect one, your grammar sucks - and that is the truth!

I have never met a bad cop in Southington.

Even when I was wrong and did not treat them as well as I should have they were all still gentlemen.

It was correct, and necessary for the arrest to be made. It was appropriate for the newsman to do his job.

Let each of us now do our job, and in our own way pray that the courts will do what is correct in this case.

Let us also pray that healing may take place in the hearts of both involved and that the family might reunite and become stronger.

Each of us has an opinion. But God has the true answer let us pray that we all get out of his way and let him do his best work. to heal this situation

I personally know Heidi who is David's ex-wife and the reason why they divorced is because he beat her and was abusive to her in front of her three daughters miss perfect one. I do not care how many times he tried to become a cop, YOU DO NOT HIT THE MOTHER OF YOUR CHILDREN EVER.

When a person becomes a cop, unfortunatley the title goes directly to the head. They are just like everyone else in this world, the are no better and they do not have the right to abuse anyone. I hope he will attend anger management classes at Wheeler Clinic just like eveyone else who gets arrested for domestic violence has to.

So Mr. Southington police officer, that is if you really are ????? This does not say much for your character as an officer or a fellow brother who you say works with you !!!!! That is also a very nice statement to make about the Schneider family "they all dont know your ass from there elbow", that is also very becoming of a perfect officer of the law !!!! why dont you let me know who you are !!! I'm sure your family is perfect and your the officer of the year who lives in a glass house !!!! To me its very DISTURBING that if you really are a police officer with the SPD one of your superiors needs to read this and find out who you are !!!! talking about a fellow brother like this......I dont care if he's right or wrong. Your background check information and any situation that has ever happened on the job is a police matter and should stay in house.... And once again if you really are a police officer when you're looking for another brother/sister you feel like talking about i hope you're in a situation where you need backup !!!! oooohhh yeah thats right they'll be there for you when you are getting your skinny ass beat !!!!!!!!!!

Schneider has been with the force since 1998 and has received several commendations, including one for helping to avert a 2005 robbery.( Sounds like he is good in his job)
David and Sandra Schneider appeared Tuesday at Superior Court in Bristol, where a judge issued a partial protective order for each of them. The order means they can continue living together but they are not to cause any harm to each other. They are to return to court on Oct. 2.( Sounds like let plan on staying together and working on things)I can not imagine working in his form of work, long days, the things you see, long hours ect. But,No one is perfect. Why judge their Argument-Shoving. I wasn;t there. Were You??????? Who called the cops? I heard it was him. I feel for their family and friends who have to be subjected to all the negitivity and judgemental B.S. I am sure someone who disliked these people contacted the press and possible fabricated some details. Hmmmmmmmmmmm Something to think about huh?

My understanding as far as the article went, and I assume it was a fair article, It was a mutual pushing and shoving match.

If so, between the departments own internal rules and regulations and the courts, this should be handled fairly.

again let us pray for the system and our God to work through this situation and bring it to a fruitful and fair conclusion.
