People are re-examining what caused the 1977 fire at the Beverly Hills Supper Club that killed 165. Was it faulty aluminum electrical wiring, or could it have been arson?

I heard that the fire marshal was looking into re-opening the case. I wonder if there is any evidence left that can help them perform today's forensics tests? There should at least be photos still in existence that show burn patterns, etc.

Wonder what Stan Chesley thinks about all this? He sued so many companies (from the furniture manufacturers to the aluminun wiring companies)on the pretense that they helped contribute to the loss of life. Use of Aluminum wiring was "outlawed" as a result of this fire. What if they prove that faulty wiring was not the cause?
This will be an interesting case if they are able to get some answers......

Does anyone else think that the fire that occurred at the White Horse Tavern in Kenton County could be connected to this fire? For years rumors have circulated that the mob burned The White Horse Tavern because the owners wouldn't let them take over. Maybe the whole 'mob burns down clubs they can't talk owners into selling" story is just a local urban legend that people like to apply to all of these places.

Isn't it strange that at the "exact" same time that the Beverly Hills Supper Club was burning, the huge Duro Bag Plant was also burning over in Kenton County? Which took some of the badly needed extra man-power because firefighters were fighting two very large fires at the same time!
Some (okay, the conspiracy theorists) think that the Duro Bag Plant fire was also intentionally set to 'divert' attention away from what was going on at the Beverly Hills Supper Club and to diminish the response time at the Beverly Hills.

I think it was set.....congrads to David and Wayne for not letting this one get swepted under the carpet....You hear all kind of rumors through the years...so many rumors that it could of been set....the scariest one I heard was that the owner's daughter lived in Crestview hills and a fire was set down the street from her house...people said they got the wrong house....I think the monument overlooking 471 is beautiful....like I said earlier, is that with all the modern forensic technoligy and all the evidence still up on the hill, it's worth checking it out....what could it hurt....I think some of the victim's families still have no closure.

Sure it was set....(dripping with sarcasm)
And Bobby Mackey's is haunted, Ratterman was framed, aliens built the pyramids and Neil Armstrong bounced along a soundstage--not the moon.

Where is this supposed 'proof'?
Brock keeps going to the press saying he has it. Why hasn't he shown it to the rest of us?

It's funny checking the results of voting here. Its almost always 50/50--people are split right down the middle on this one!

Wouldn't the state fire marshal reopen the case if he thought that there was resonable cause?
Has he given his opinion of this fire?

I heard that the basement of the club was only bulldozed "OVER" after the fire. Supposedly it is still there--buried but intact. For years people thought that if they went up there to dig, they might find money or other valuables originally kept in the basement. This is why people were discouraged from walking up to the site and doing their own 'excavations'. My question is--could this so called basement area hold some long forgotten evidence of the fire that would yield some answers???

it was arson. a certain "lawyer" helped pre-plan it, so he could cash in.

Can you still walk/drive up there to the site?

Yes you can if you don't heed the 'no trespassing ' sign. If a cop spots you walking up the hill, he may slap you with a trespassing charge. But many (including myself) have made the trip up there without anyone saying anything. It is VERY creepy up there! Lots of personal items from the victims still lying around. I saw a burnt shoe and a burnt piece of clothing snagged on a tree.

Every Memorial Day they hold some sort of a vigil in rememberance of the victims and it has become a tradition for large groups of people to walk up to the site to leave flowers. That is a good time to go up there.

You can walk up the hill, but you can not drive. A lot of the path is overgrown with bushes, but you can still follow the driveway up to the site.

Dave Brock says that he "knows" who the arsonists are and that they are still living--just in another state and that he knows where. He says he just wants someone to help build a case against them so that the men can be held accountable and so that the truth will come out. How they will build a case with no evidence is beyond me. Perhaps Brock is just hoping that if someone confronts these people, they will confess....
