So disappointed that Mayor Davis has decided to stretch out the inevitable and thus put everyone of Southaven through the dilemma of another election. He will ask that people consider his record for the past 16 years. He will ask that people only judge him of his record of public service. He will ask that his childrens' feelings be considered when you speak about him.
During the last 16 years (really, since 1992), all of DeSoto Co has experienced exponential growth due to the mass exodus from Memphis. Just about anyone would have been able to take credit for the growth in population but the credit should go to Dr. Herenton. As for the issue of public service, there are people who have stated that Mr. Davis left Jackson and the State Legislature to come home and there are others who have stated that Mr. Davis was run out of Jackson and "backed by the state party" to run for Mayor 16 years ago. Take either version for what it is worth because it really does not matter in 2013. It is time for a new leader because it is time for change, period. As far as considering the children, the Mayor stated in January that he would not seek re-election because of his partner & his children.
To Quote Doc Holliday, "My hypocrisy only goes so far.. Forgive me if I do not shake hands."
Wonder if he will use the platform from his failed 2008 Congressional Bid? Him and his wife walking hand in hand. His wife speaking so highly of his character. If he had won that election, then
Southaven would have already put him in the rear view mirror.

He "reversed" the wrong thing. He should have backed up, punted and picked a better and cleaner life style! The public may well be considerate of his kids........but he wasn't and isn't!

This is a replay of Memphis politics. Be corrupt
break the law and have the guts to run again.
He should be ran out of town along with all the weak aldermen who played dumb.
He is a disgrace to his family and to the city.
Replace all of them.Let's start over with new blood.

You're half-right and half-wrong. Guess which is which. Does my description of that queer mayor hurt your feelings? Too bad.

I am not a Southaven resident, but I would think the voters would replace the whole lot. Clean house.
