I am curious about The Boiling Point restaurant. Some friends have been wanting to go there but I wasn't sure if it's any good. Also, is it a cool bar or just mainly a restaurant?

The manager that was there with the dark spikey hair? I moved and came back recently and he isn't working there anymore. I always thought he was so nice and great with the customers.

My family ate there just the other day. And all of us got very loose stool,(you know) my mother even threw up that evening. Now if it was just one of us, I would have guessed they didn't wash there hands proper. But all of us,and we are sticklers for hand washing, became ill. I personally think ether the staff isn't observing proper food handling or they just are not very clean in the kitchen. Also the salad was just lettuce. I would advise steering clear of this restaurant. Well maybe you like being on the toilet, that's up to you. P.S.The server didn't even know the menu, and he said that he'd been there awhile, isn't that something. Asked him for creams for the coffee and he came back with one. Sorry now just ranting, all in all the service was BAD and they didn't have half a house.

My family and I eat there often, my girls love it there. The food is nothing exceptional, especially for the price. I have to agree with some of the other posts, the service is usually poor. BUT, when your daughters drag you there and there aren't many other options.... I guess you take what you can get. Cheaper than moving back to Ft. Lauderdale.

DON'T GO THERE!!! My husband & I ate there for the LAST time , 3 weeks ago, we were OVERCHARGED, by Mark. I called the manager later, Charlie, he seemed concerned and willing to refund overage, he took my name and number to call me back. He NEVER returned my call, I called back 6 times, left message. HE NEVER FOLLOWED UP. BAD [email protected]@@

My family and I have eaten there a few times. Service has been spotty, usually on the poor side. Prices are a little high and the food is a crap shoot. But my youngest likes to go there, so I olblige. Besides, I have lived here 8 years now and have not found a "good" place to eat yet.

The waitress also overcharged me and my girlfriend...very shady business practices AND employees. I live about 2 mins away and wouldn't piss on this place if it was on fire.

Okay, so I have been there several times, to visit both the "bar" side as well as the restaurant side. The food is GREAT, the service is good, and the prices are moderate, but worth it. However, on my last visit on New Years Eve, my husband and I met up with some old high school friends who had recently moved to the Desoto County area. They asked us to pick our favorite place, so we went to The Boiling Point. We ordered a very expensive prime rib meal, to the tune of over $80 per couple and enjoyed it as well as good conversation with friends we had not seen in 18 years. It took us 30 minutes to be seated (not too bad), about 20 mins. to even see a waitress and order our drinks and about 45 mins. to receive our food. So, it was 2+ hours before we even began eating our meal. We didn't mind as we were enjoying catching up. About 15 mins into our dinner, the waitress came over and told us that they needed our table and the "manager" said we needed to hurry up and leave. We laughed this off and continued with our meal. About 15 mins later, as we were finishing up, the waitress came back and said she was getting in trouble because we were still there. We explained that although we had been at the table for 2 hours, we had only had our food for about 30 minutes. She again told us that they needed our table. We looked around the dinning area (restaurant side) and there were 2 empty tables. I then asked the waitress if we ordered drinks, if her manager would allow us to stay. She came back and said that her manager said that we had to move to the other side to drink and stay. The other side had a $15 cover charge that night, and we were there to catch up with friends, not party. At this point, we had no choice but to leave. We all decided that we would certainly never come back after that treatment. And none of us have...

It's ok. I've had more bad experiences than good but close to 50/50 overall. Atmosphere is good but there are better places to eat for cheaper. Go eat there and make your own opinion.

I've been for lunch probably a dozen times or more and it's always been good.
