I agree. I know you may be a concerned citizen. You have a right as a voter to voice your opinion. I personally do not approve of that live style. As a voter I will have to make a choice based on his ability as mayor and one on morals.

i wasnt trying to slander at all... it was a comment i shouldve kept to myself i do apologize to anyone i offended...i feel since ive asked for forgiveness from my father in heaven, im forgiven... Since that being said, i feel it doesnt matter wat anybody says...

slander? Asking a question is not slander. There ARE some pretty serious rumors out there. If proven to be true, could have major repercussions in the future. Wish someone with the whole 411 would reply. People need to know the truth, or lack of.

What I heard would cause the public to question his integrity and his motives. TRUST is the biggest issue. I wish his ex???wife would chime in, she knows the truth. As should all of is constituants.

I know most of the story and may know the whole story. This is not a surprise to most,if he does his job well, what business is it of yours what he does on his private time. I may not agree with what he is doing, but there have been times others have not agreed with what I did. The majority of the citizen thinks he is doing a good job as mayor. It will be up to the citizens of Southaven to decide his fate. Your spoon may break while you are stirring the pot.

Just curious, because some parts of the story are appalling. I will not judge anyone based on how they choose to live their life, as this is a free country. But, what if someone is hurt in the process of living said freedoms? That is my ONLY point, as otherwise I could care less. And I am not stirrng the pot. PUBLIC INFORMATION is not stirring anything.

Ive heard them as well that he left his wife for a member of the opposite sex, but as long as he,s doing his job thats ok with me,i know he has children, and divorce is not good for any kid.
but obvious you have head the same thing i have heard as well, or you wouldnt have brought it up. If he wants to address the people then thats his decision

You should not apologize for asking a question Tapking. I have known Mayor Davis for quite some time now. And I know him well enough to know that he has many times made judgment regarding other peoples lifestyle choices as well. Maybe it is his "spoon that has gotten broken". When you are in a position of autority, you certainly should realize that your life is under scrutiny, more so than the rest of us. I have to wonder if these "supporters" of Mayor Davis were as supportive of President Clinton. Yes, he cheated on his wife. The image of him as a loving family man is gone. I had already decided not to vote for him again for other reasons.

wow...not surprised..your right what goes around comes around..but hey, he's not my mayor and i am not his judge...there is a big difference in ablility and liability..in morales and morality..just depends on what you believe (i guess) so since i am not in a position to pass judgement, i humbly bow out...but this has been an interesting topix...MUD SLIDES ALOT EASIER THAN DIRT.

I'm not sure where all of this is coming from. I do know that in the 11 years that I have lived in Southaven after leaving Memphis for a safer place for myself and my family to live, I could not have made a better decision. The growth in north Mississippi, Desoto County, and Southaven did not happen by accident.

[Perception is Reality]

Mayor Davis needs to realize that unfortunately, perception is reality and when living in the deep south, rumors fueled by facts that can be read different ways (oldest daughter not speaking to him, middle daughter telling friends some pretty unfortunate reasons for the divorce, etc) will bring about your downfall. You are an elected official, you now no longer have the "expected" right to privacy. You are no longer a private person, you are a public figure. You wanted to run, nobody forced you. You wanted to cheat, errr, the perception that you cheated, thus causing your divorce, is something that I take into account of you wanting to run my city. And to those of you saying "what does it matter how he runs his personal life as long as he runs the city properly?" Well, it does. If you can't keep your family together (which is more important than running a city), how am I to believe that you can run a city properly?

Leave the man alone. I think he's awesome. I don't care what side he butters his bread on. If the rumors are true, it didnt happen overnight and he's done a fine job with this city so far, he'll keep doing it.
