Do any of the current Southaven elected officials (such as aldermen) have a reasonable chance at being re-elected in the upcoming election? If so, who do you think has a chance and why?

Huling was one of Davis yes men.
Jobes is a drunk
Hale scrambles to be in front of a camera
The others were puppets played by Davis.

Hopefully they are all replaced.

How dare Davis run again!!!!

Unfortunately a new broom might sweep clean.
Hale, Brooks, and Payne all helped to get the Mayor reigned in from his life of no checks and balances. Cady simply dotes on the Mayor like he is still a little boy and Huling has been a mayoral pigeon since he was elected. Jobes needs the Mayor to bail him out of jail after he gets a blue light taxi to Jail when he has been drinking and driving (more than once). Greg Guy has been the smartest one and decided to walk away from the circus while he still can. Hale and Payne can stay in their positions and Brooks can take over for Guy. The rest - Got To Go.

Realityiswhereyo ulive,

The three may have blown the whistle but it is interesting that hit happened after they were informed by the State Auditor that they could be held liable for the expenditures.

According to the news reports of the earlier trial, the Aldermen's testimonies pretty much said that they continued to approve questionable expenses even after the State Auditor's investigation began. Is this the type of governance we need to continue? Check out the post under WMC Action News 5, Jan. 29, 2013 by Janice Broach.

A clean sweep is definitely needed.

No policies were in place. When some of the new people came into office in 2009, the status quo did go on for a while. Eventually, people started to ask questions and were not getting answers other than "that's the way it has always been". The whistle blowers did not know whom to trust with the info because of the Mayor's influence and eventually decided to ask Chief Long whom they could contact in the State Attorney General's Office, which has led to the State Auditor, MBI, FBI, and IRS all forming their own investigations. Unfortunately, these things take time. Way too much time, but if it leads to Justice, then it will have been worth the wait. My first statement was that New Brooms May Sweep Clean. Sometimes a one-term politician can be the best thing that a government could ask for.

Hale, Brooks and Payne!!!!!!

Hale is a complete moron who can't decide what he wants to do in life or wants to reside.. I mean the man works for MFD was SFD not good enough for him back in the day.. But it's good enough to take a salary for being an alderman who was okay with the spending to he was told he could face criminal charges too....
Brooks is helping as many current alderman he can to get elected.. Serving this country is a GREAT thing but using people is a shame!!!
Payne he gets elected cause of his wife!!!!

Get the broom out sweep them all away!!!!

"The Southaven Board of Aldermen approved all of Davis' trips and his spending without looking closely into them. They admit they asked almost no questions. Even after the Board of Alderman began growing concerned, they still approved Davis' expenses."

"The bottom line, according to testimony, is that the aldermen never appeared to be concerned enough to check out what Davis said, but instead continued approving expenses even after the state investigation began."

Every last single one of them continued approving even after the investigation began. They want us to re-elect them to continue to serve who - the citizens or themselves?
