I suppose the main purpose of this is to make anyone researching these buildings prior to renting them aware. They own 507 East 73rd Street, 509 East 73rd Street, and 511 East 73rd Street in New York, NY. They are slow and/or refuse maintenance in the buildings. They took 1/4th of my deposit and refuse to provide documentation of where that money went. When asking for it, I was told to just sue them. Of course, small claims court is pointless. I wish someone else had written about them so I would have known not to rent in their buildings.

They are awful. my apartment just burned down (a girl on my floor kept a candle burning while in the shower), and in the midst of lugging out the remnants of my belongings, they had absolutely zero answers. where was I supposed to live? when can I expect the remainder of this month's rent, next months (my last and already payed for) and security, so that I can find a new apartment? NOTHING. No smopke detector sounded in the building during the fire and evacuation. Their insurance sleeze had the nerve to say to me that no on was hurt, so he wasnt sure what I was asking about the smoke detectors... These people are crooks and the scum of the earth and will most certainly not be left alone after this disturbing epidosde. Oh and we also havent heard from them. The fire was 5 days ago. no return to my calls- nothing.

Agree with all the other posters and I have only lived at 235 E. 4th St. for a week. The only problem with our newly renovated apartment was the door - it wasn't resting properly on the hinges, so it was causing all of our locks (which we changed ourselves) to break. So after calling a locksmith for the 2nd time, we called to have them fix the door. Roberta, who managed to twist my words even after I sent them a letter documenting our conversation, told Mr. Moses (is he the landlord, or just some hired a**hole who yells at people for fun?) that we were a) making unauthorized repairs to the apartment, b) withholding rent. All I said was that "we wanted to have a discussion about rent reduction" and sent them the locksmith receipt to show that the technician believed the door itself was the problem. I then got several threatening calls from Mr. Moses, with him ultimately saying he won't renew our lease for NEXT APRIL because of this, and hung up. No one has a right to speak to me like that. If I wasn't too busy with having a job and pursuing a professional certification, I would take him to court and sue him for all he's got, but then again, once he sees that the rent checks are getting paid by said job and professional certification, he won't care.

we lived on 318 E 78th street. Never, but NEVER rent from them particularly in that building unless you want to have roaches/cockroaches in your bed. Building is infested with bugs that are crawling out the ceilings, dry walls etc. All the company did is to put bait and roach hotel. Beyond horror!!!! Heating is so pure, they only heat ground level where the Super lives. Thanks God I did not develop some nasty disease!
