A bigger issue is that Garbage Plant proposed in Waterbury near residential areas. Hope the Feds are looking still at John Rowland and other close associates and the Principals in this plan in this. Follow the money again.

Garbage is a real problem, everybody makes it but nobody wants it. There must be a way to get rid of it without burning it in a city or dumping the ash in a rural town.

Sounds like Coventry would be a great place for the ash dump......

Hey Mr. Elsesser, I would agree with you except for one important point. The ancient legislation is flawed and with the complete lack of direction on garbage policy at the Capitol, there was no time to make the monumental changes that are necessary. While waiting for the State to decided what is the right course of action, an irreversible giant toxic ash dump would be constructed in our town.

I truly believe that you would change your tune if Coventry was sited for the landfill.

And would you even care enough to carry a tune if it wasn't in your backyard...?

What wonderful public-spirited folks we have here in Connecticut. No one wants anything in their backyard except their backyard. However, responsible citizens understand that for the greater good each of us must make sacrifices. NIMBY legislation like this is horrible public policy that will quickly come around to bite us all in the hind quarters.

Congratulations to the selfish people of Franklin! You won!

You know what they say about this being the season of goodwill to all men? Well, you get the chance to put it into action today by being understanding, tolerant and compassionate towards the people you meet. This doesn't mean you should condone anything awful that they do, but simply that you need to look beyond that to the larger picture.
