I just saw on the WYMT Mountain news website that some country artists are joining together against the coal industry..
If you support coal please no longer purchase music by these artists. Also please call Randy Walters at 105.1, and let him know that you dont want to listen to these people.
They are: EmmyLou Harris, Randy Travis, Big Kenny Alphin, Dierks Bentley, Delbert Mcclinton, Kid Rock, J.D. Souther.
Don't spend your hard earned coal money on these artists.

Here is the link, all the proof you need...

http://www.wkyt.com/wymtnews/headlines/697421...

People just don't understand what the coal industry does for our county, state and country. Coal is our livelihood and feeds our families. They have the right to their opinion; I just don't have to agree with it. If they depended on coal mining to take care of their families they would SING a different tune.

These wealthy singers want to save the mountains and hurt the precious people that make a living from coal. They need to stop and think that these same people helped make their careers.

So maybe we should just pour concrete after we strip mine instead of planting trees and sowing grass, seems to work in the big cities. These cities have covered miles and miles and miles of land with concrete, we snip the top off of a mountain and here come the activists. What a joke!

Why don't they look closer to home at what is being done to their environment-Developers destroying pristine forest with more and more homes on hill sides surrounding the Great Smokey Mts National Park. The huge homes the stars build that gobble up energy. They have lots of issues to stand for in their own backyard. They should get out of ours.

I've said it time and time again..." For the first time in history the Coal Operators and the Coal Miners need to go on a National STRIKE." Let the coal piles at the Electric Plants go down, let them run out. Then watch all these Tree Huggers and Country Music Singers go without electric, let their heated pools go cold, their million Dollar Homes freeze. No TV, or refrigerators to keep there beer and food cold, turn their lights and computers off, and let them try to pump a gallon of gas for their limo's! Do it now before they put you out of work forever...Going on a National Strike is the is the only way to settle this and make everyone against coal... see the light!

To Mr. Commonsense:

Thanks for posting the link to this..I had wanted to do the same, but I don't know how. I called the radio station this morning, and they told me to call back and talk to Randy Walters after 3:00 so thats what I am going to do.

If you have not been listening to the radio of the evening you should. They have been having a lot of speakers in support of the coal industry. They aired a 30 min. special last night on the reasons that we should not be shopping in Lexington..You can also listen to 105.1 online.

And also thanks for all your posts I really enjoy reading them. We seem to be in support of the same things.

Yea, us country folk buy their music. Guess they think it's the city folk. But by how modern county sounds, it apeals more to the city folk anyways. Lets hear if for Loretta Lynn. She'd never turn on us... But you never know this day in time.

some one should find out where they are going to be playing at, get all the coal miners together stand out side before the show and protest, have them all in there mining gear so every one will see that if it wasnt for the coal miners the usa would be worse off than it is right now.is them singers gona bring jobs to the coal mining counties? they going to feed us and our family? i dont think so, who has the bigest heard of elk east of the mississippi? kentucky, and why is that? because of strip mining reclaimed land created the habitat for them to bring back a native animal that has not been here in over 150 years. them singers can kiss my coal mining southern ass

I grew up in KY. My grandfather died in the 3 point mine explosion of '43. My father, brothers and uncle's, all miners. I am very appreciative of their work and the food that they provided for families. I however do not agree with cutting off the top of a beautiful mountain because it is the most "efficient" and quickest way to get to the coal. It is disgraceful and only puts everyone who lives in the "valley" sections at risk for flooding, erosion and the sight of flat top hills. Soon the what made Harlan and the areas around it beautiful will be gone... It is sort of like the old Andy Griffith episode where Floyd talks about the hustle and bustle of Mount Pilot and if the railroad would have came through Mayberry they would be more like the "big city". What makes Harlan, "Harlan" is the mountains she is surronded by.

EmmyLou Harris, Randy Travis, Big Kenny Alphin, Dierks Bentley, Delbert Mcclinton, Kid Rock, J.D. Souther, President Obama, and his administration, and all people outside of the coal mining areas in America are not your real enemy here.

New available clean technology is.

Just keep in mind as I have said on here before; at one time the buggy whip industry was real strong and very necessary.

How would you like to hold stock in a buggy whip company this day and age?

I know it is sad for the coal miner and family to hear this news that was reported about these artist not supporting your industry, but out of all honesty, the mass majority of America could care less about the coal mining industry.

I know you think if you went on strike, or whatever, America would shut down shop. It wouldn't, it would just adjust as America has always done.

This is not me talking, but rather, the mass majority of America. How do I know the majority? Because the mass majority voted for Obama, and his alternative energies to be developed and inducted into being.

I'm sure the buggy whip industry went berserk when the automobile industry rolled cars off the assembly line, then put on sale in the market place.

I'm sure the Indians hated to see the train tracks being built from east to west as well.

Nothing ever stays the same.

The only thing constant, is CHANGE.

I know this band. Dewayne Bennett took these boys to Florida to play in Battle of the Bands in 2002. They won...some of our Coal Operators should load a bunch up and this band and go protest against this.

All these people that are against coal, the first thing out of there mouth is you destroying the mountains, but have they ever been here. They never once think about the people and their livelyhood which is Coal and Coalmining. If these so called country music stars want to fight for a cause why don't they help with the rampent and outrages poverty that is here and now this is reality not a country song. Men and women that work in the coal industry do a noble, tough, dirty and respectable job that no else wants to do. If they really want to help lobby congress with all there so called star power and get mining permits approved, across the mountains we need jobs and the coal industry provides it. Mabey Randy, Big Kenny, and Kid Rock need to get up a 3:30 and ride the mantrip into a 27-36 inch seam of coal and work all day like a dog then there candya@@es will get a taste of real mountain reality.

Well Jimbo, you claim that….“the mass majority of America could care less about the coal mining industry.” and that “the mass majority voted for Obama, and his alternative energies to be developed and inducted into being.”

Truth is Jim, that a huge majority of folks who voted for Obama does not even know or care where electricity comes from.

Do you know that most young Americans don’t even know who the VP is.
http://www.foxnews.com/video2/video08.html...

It’s Commonsense Jimbo, a big bunch of people who voted for Obama did not even know where he stood on the issues…
http://www.youtube.com/watch...

they voted for him because….

1. It was cool
2. He was not bush
3. Party loyalist
4. Hollywood said it was cool

Coal is on its way out. Sorry, that's how evolution works.

The new replaces the old, just as the automobile replaced the buggy.

Going to new alternative new clean energy sources is commonsense.

To the contrary, we know the issues very well.(Obama Voters). The majority of America is not totally stupid by allowing Fox News to do our thinking for us.

I've been here the entire time pretty much with a few exceptions of course, where have you been?

(Now, the apology!)

I'm sorry rawtruth, will you please forgive me for being a 21st Century thinker, a man with a vision, intelligence, and talent, and skill to make an entire message board break out into the heebeegeebees, as well as cold chills with thrills, and fun for all?

I am not sure I can go on in life with you not accepting my apology. I may fold up, cease to exist, and fade away into the wild blue yonder abyss, and end up at the pearly gates with Jesus waiting on me to greet me saying, "Job well done Jimmy Rants, enter thy wonderful and cool self on up in here with the rest of the awesome people much like you almost."

I've been doing things for the past few days Raw that kept me away for the most part. I posted here and there.

I'm never that far away really.

If you ever miss me really bad, you could email me, and you and I could talk on the phone for hours upon hours if ya wanna when you wife is at work to fill in that lonely gap till she returns.

I know that would be thrilling. Don'tcha think??

Please forgive me for I don't know what, but just please do so, so I can live, be happy, and sleep well at night.

Take care my trusted friend from the southeastern side of the USA...The greatest nation in the world.

Bless Thee all Ye that's with it!

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Taurus

Friends and partners aren't behaving as you would like today. They're eager to go their own way, much to your annoyance. In order to get round this you're going to have to ask yourself some tricky questions, such as whether you're trying to control everyone's behavior or whether they're being inconsiderate in wanting to do their own thing. It's a Full Moon and a lunar eclipse, so maybe you should all release the tension by making it a super New Year's Eve celebration?
