Yes i assumed he was a liar toward the end. He also promised me the world. Used to call me regularly when he was living in Dubai. I even rang up expensive telephone bills calling him. That was in 2007. He was supposedly planning on coming over here to SA to meet my family but then when the dates came closer he suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth. I eventually faxed a letter to the telephone/fax number he had given me and the receipt i got from the fax was some muslim name. I then carried on with life only to get a message from him nearly a year later (sometime toward end of last year), to apologise for disappearing but that he was involved in an accident, blah blah. And that he wishes things couldve been different etc.
I must say he was very convincing through the time we got to know each other. He had his german/part american accent and everything. But i really have been curious as to who he really was. So if anyone knows more, let me know :-)

Mr. "Enrico" has struck again. This time in Europe. He contacted me on a dating site back in December 2008. My experience has been the same.... being very convincing, spending hours speaking to each other practically every day and saying he was going to visit then disappeared in February 2009.
I came across details of Enrico Da Silva by accident, as I knew him as Enrico Miguelo De Los Angelos De La Rossa... but it's the same person and same profile information everywhere I have looked. I also got a strange email once from an address with a Muslim name... Mohammed, which was the exact email address as Enrico but said he was having problems with getting his email mixed up with someone else.
He also has a very strong accent, as he said he lived in Germany as a child. Not sure what exactly was truth and what was not, but I will assume everything he said was a lie.
It's unfortunate that he does this to people... spending so much time and effort it seems. One thing I think we all must bear in mind is that if something sounds too good to be true.... but then again if a REAL man (that you have met in person) comes along and he is actually a genuinely nice guy and is good for you then that's another story.
So in saying that, forget about him. Add this experience to your "you will never guess what happened to me" funny story log... I have.

LOL. I certainly agree and will put it down to a funny story. It just would be brilliant to know who this crazy man really is. Gosh he mustve had very expensive telephone bills having called all his 'women' from around the world. I must admit that even though i am in a serious relationship with a real man - ive realised that men in general (real or virtual) are not to be trusted. hey are always seeking their ego to be stroked by more than one woman. And the fact that they are in a committed relationship, doesnt really mean much....

it seems that I met this man as well. I met him on a dating site in June of 2008. He asked me to marry him and even said that he wanted me to have his baby.
to make a long story short, I am over him and I hope that all of you ladies can move on with your lives as well...

Hi all you girls, I was one more, I am from latin america, my English isn’t good sorry about that. I think, I was the most stupid because I believed in him twice. This is my story. He contacted to me on April 2007 on dating’s place, he told me he was in dubai, I thought he was a wonderful man, but he did the same "modus operandi". On Jun 2007 he told me he would come to meet me. I was worried because he disappeared I was thinking something bad happened, but after some weeks I saw he had logged in a music page then I wrote him a angry letter. I had never known about him again, until I saw him in other chating`s place on Nov 2008 and I contacted him for an explanation, he told me about a terrible car accident that he had on jun 2007 in dubai, when he disappeared, he was in a hospital for a month and he still was no good because he had a tumour on his brain as result of the accident that couldn’t be operated, and he just was waiting medicine that making him feel bad and dizzy, could make it disappear, if the tumour move he could die . His parents took him home from dubai and they moved to Arizona where he has been since then, just alone and sad. Also he told me that travelling by plane could be very dangerous for him because of the tumour. He told me he lost part of his memory, that he remembered me later, but because of my letter he didn’t try to contact me again but he still loved me, and I believed in him again and I felt very sorry about all happened to him, on December 2008, before 15th, I said to him that I could visit to him so he wouldn’t have to travel. And that was all, he disappeared again, then I found this comments on this place and I understood how fool I was. It is ok, I was over him as well. I always asked myself, why never he had a web cam? And why he sent me same pics, I mean a year had spent, he promised new one but never sent it.

LOL - its so amazing how he maintained one story and just told each woman the same story. Amazing how he managed to remember who he was speaking with each time.... I tell you, he has certainly opened up my eyes. Meeting someone on the net is very rarely truthful. People, lie about themselves (men in particular) and they use it to boost their egos.
Sad - but glad i also learnt a lesson. I still think he deserves to learn a lesson. I even thought that perhaps he is some physco that is in a mental institution with nothing much to do other than charm women all day to make him feel like a man...
