"Nothing is more important than protecting our kids."
Blah blah blah blah blah blah... I know lets blame the union. What a crock of krap. If sheriff Rosco P. Coletrain here spent less of his men's time busting people for victimless crimes, arresting old retired race car drivers for nothing and trying to get news coverage to promote his political aspirations maybe there would be a few more deputies available to cover the schools. Then again if APS would do it's job and expel little predators when they first start victimizing other kids in the fourth grade or so (instead of enabling them through high school) we would not need deputies in schools.

Could you talk a little bit more about topics that you know nothing about?

You're entertaining me.

APD and BCSO should never be in APS Schools, so long as there is an APS Police force.

There is an APS Police force, yet APD and BCSO have to respond to the schools for alarms and disputes. Just what does APS Police do?

Sheriff White is right on the money and I hope he doesn't put the cops back in the school, unless APS dissolves their silly police force and gives that budget to BCSO.

Now I see it differently, there should be NO APS police, that cost millions a year which could go for Teacher's salaries and more books and other things needed to improve the schools.

It is the job of APD and BCSO to police the schools, part of keeping law and order.

DUMP school wannbe cops and don't make them part of the regular police.

That is how I see it, how it should be and how to improve the cash flow in schools.

Try standing on your feet when speaking.

Doing so on your head sort of messes up what you are trying to say.

Why are services not being provided to the south valley area of the school district and the rest of the district is not affected?

Where are deputies needed more - in the south valley schools, or on the south valley streets?

The schools do not needs cops there, I think that the cops should respond to the school just like they do to any other call they take.

There are already security officers at the schools getting paid salary, no need for cops in the schools.

there are plenty of cops to go out and trample our basic rights with random search and siesure(ie 100 days of summer)but not enough to protect your kids. If only there was as much money in protecting the citizens as there is in traffic drag nets.

Didn't APS discover a credit balance of several million dollars that was on the books (good math skills) that could be disbursed to cover both improvements to the infastructure and could cover details for officers or I dare say hire more APS police (They should always be completely vetted to prevent future news releases). Where did that captial go? Knowone can think out of the box in APS and other gov't divisions.

My comments may disturb but .. Im sorry Kids are no different than they've always been. By having police in our schools does not protect them, it creates an atmosphere that breeds crime and feeds the money game now called the criminal justice system. My God when did society get so scared .. sure there have been events of violence that have been horrendous ... but when i went to school kid faught and sure got suspended and payed consequences ... but now they pick up a charge "WHAT" your gonna attach a kid and now put him in a system that puts up as many walls to success as it can come on people. Police in schools does the exact opposite of what our common goal is. Teachers should get all that money period

I teach in the south valley, and I believe that the officers in the schools are a great advantage. Not only do they provide safety and security, they also work to give our students a different view of police officers than they already have. Many of our students grow up to fear and dislike those in uniform, the BCSOs in our schools have shown them that there is no need to fear them. I'd be very happy to have our SRO back!

If they would kick the little gang bangers out of school, you would not have a problem.

In the process you might even raise moral and test scores...

Law enforcement officers working on campuses are as much a special assignment as accident investigation or K-9. Not just any cop is fit for campus assignments.
Once again you talk out of something that should be sitting on a toilet.
Chief Reed and the rest of the APS Police Department are certified law enforcement officers.
They are retired officers who are still fit for service.
Chief Reed and his supervisors are graduates of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
