I think her point was that there is pain and misery the world over, and that any G-d who imposes that upon us is not the beneficent entity that some people believe G-d to be. In other words, "he's" responsible for everything, or he's responsible for nothing.
Furthermore, abortion is then part of the plan, as well, is it not?
then it would seem reasonable by her words that she has another god who should pick up the slack of the god she despises and blames and stop all of it.

<quoted text>Ridge, get a clue. The consequences of my decision not to buy into the Christian dogma/doctrine/doodah, whatever, are that I do not have to fear a fairy tale; that I do not have toxic lies forced down my neck, and I do not have to answer to a God that cares so little about the human race that abortion is necessary in the first place. If your God was such a great all powerful being, He would have created a race better than humans, for all the good we do for the planet,(None) and would not have stopped at the prototype. Next.
what is the "next" for ? is that because you believe your words to be final ? its it arrogance ,ego or just your way of coping ?

it seems to me that if you put nature in charge of life that nature in its infinite ability to adjust would have by now brought us to a place where a women would feel the need to be a mother .

its really not that hard to understand that you can't have light without darkness and you can't have good without evil .

there must be an opposite to have a choice , life v death, happiness v sadness , peace v war.

by being so dogmatic in your views of the world you miss so much not only emotionally but intellectually .

The 'next' was in preparation for your next salvo, as you always have a retort. I understand the duality of nature, Ridge. I simply refuse to believe in the myth that God is responsible for creating us; we do what we do whether we 'believe' in 'God' or don't. Nature is doing just fine in its infinite adjustments, and is great at correcting its mistakes; but fundamental Christian claimants who follow a supposedly all powerful-perfect-omnipotent being, assert that God has made none. I disagree. Some of us are just less sanctimonious about our beliefs than others, refusing to subject others to said personally held beliefs. And I don't see myself as dogmatic; pragmatic is the term I would use. Thanks for your comment.

Any one who believes in a higher power and an afterlife is connected by that belief but we all find different ways and different times to get there. You may come back to Mass one day or you may find something else that you are more comfortable with. Keep God in your heart always.

This is exactly the kind of sanctimonious crap I object to from these threads, by the way. Not all men want, wish, or deserve to be fathers, any more than all women wish, want, or deserve to be mothers. No person NEEDS to be a progenitor - especially not in this day and age, when overpopulation threatens us all, and we humans have no natural predators but each other. JMO.

I don't envy the Catholics of today. In many ways they are the victims. They stand true and loyal and strong for their beloved church, but have been betrayed at times. Plus they feel attacked by non-Catholics. Being loyal is one thing, being in denial and refusing to see that mistakes have been made is another.

I believe that, as well, that we all find different ways and times to get there. That's why it's frustrating when someone tells a Wiccan they are wrong, for example. We really and truly do not know who is wrong and who is right. If we can accept the fact that these are simply our beliefs (not to minimize them in any way, though) that would do wonders for communication and cooperation.

For me, G-d is everywhere. I am constantly reminded through the most subtle things. The perfection of a rain drop, my dog's loving eyes, the smell of the back of a baby's neck....

You just don't get it and you probably never will. Everything and everybody dies. And that's the way it is. It's all part of the bigger picture that you can't see.
Death is no mystery. The mystery is why you worship the sadist that you believe created pain & suffering like children's cancers. That is what makes your claims to spiritual superiority such a scam. All the whitewash on earth can't cover up the pain in the eyes of one of your rapist priest's victims or a child dying in pain or a victim of rheumatoid arthritis. If you claim da debbil didit, you just admit that your god Satan is more powerful than your weak li'l jesus-boy.

34. "The anti-abortionists are a bunch of men telling women what to do."

34a. There is no substantial difference between men and women's views of abortion.

34b. Some polls suggest more women than men oppose abortion.

34c. The great majority of prolife workers are women.

34d. If men are disqualified from the abortion issue, they should be disqualified on both sides.

34e. Men are entitled to take a position on abortion.

34f. There are many more women in prolife organizations that there are in proabortion organizations.

34g. Of women who have had abortions, far more are prolife activists than prochoice activists.

35. "Anti-abortionists talk about the sanctity of human life, yet they favor capital punishment."

35a. Not all prolifers favor capital punishment.

35b. Capital punishment is rooted in a respect for innocent human life.

35c. There is a vast difference between punishing a convicted murderer and killing an innocent child.

36. "Anti-abortion fanatics break the law, are violent, and bomb abortion clinics."

36a. Media coverage of prolife civil disobedience often bears little resemblance to what actually happens.

36b. Prolife civil disobedience should not be condemned without understanding the reasons behind it.

36c. Peaceful civil disobedience is consistent with the belief that the unborn are human beings.

36d. Prolife protests have been remarkably nonviolent, and even when there has been violence it has usually been committed by clinic employees and escorts.

36e. Abortion clinic bombing and violence are rare, and are neither done nor endorsed by prolife organizations.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Scorpio

There are problems concerning money today, especially if someone thinks they aren't getting their fair share of it. Mars turns retrograde in your house of public matters, so issues from the pat will need to be dealt with in weeks to come. Sort things out quickly, before they become even more fraught.
