I am sorry that you did not find the start of the new program as good as others. Since you have posted on other threads stating who you were, then we know that athlete that you speek of. I could not imagaine that very many parents would or could see the value of this season since the program in the past was so bad. The kids never had to work hard and stand accountable for the lack of action on their part. It does not matter what the kid's last name is no longer, it is the effort that he puts forth. Mr. Copley is teaching more than football, he is teaching life skills. I am sure that you will see that Greenup has finally got a system that will allow future athletes the opportunity to have success. Win or lose, the teams in the future at Greenup High will have the foundation for life and that matters more than anything. What makes his program so different is that he will see that the athletes are shown how to perform and act on and off the field rather than just being told as in the past. That is what makes GREAT leaders and coaches, setting an example for others through actions and not just words. Sit back and watch... Greenup Co. Football is on it's way up..... Support or shut up....

Love the new coach and the disipline and excitment he has brought to the program. Get ur boys in the weightroom now and quit crying. Next year will be great for GC football.

I have supported GCHS football many years-whether i like the coaching or not- i am there for the boys - as all parents should be. We have taught our children that hard work and dedication pay off. Coach Copley is teaching them that it will pay off if it helps him. There are kids there that NEVER missed a practice or game and helped out even when not asked. Where were those kids during the game???? Or how about a kid that starts JV and is good at his "job" but can't seem to get any play time in the varsity games. This is nothing i haven't said to the coach himself. I am thankful that we are done with the football program at greenup. I still wish them the best of luck, but am glad its over for this family. OH yea and my kid was one of them in the weightroom 2x a day this summer all summer, and all through the year sick or well. As far as playin favorites - we all saw it, so don't try and tell me it didn't exist. So Breal - get real.

i must give credit where it is due. I attended the banquet last night. Out of the eight I have attended this was probably the nicest. The atmosphere, food and speakers really made it a nice night So even if I didn't care for the first year of the new coach, I hope that the words he spoke last night were real and he does help coach the boys to wonderful things. I haven't changed my feelings about this past year, but I still wish the boys the best possible year they can have. Those boys have alot of heart and drive and I hope the coach realizes what a great bunch of boys he has the priveledge of coaching. I hope that he does right by them. Good luck musketeers. The one thing that did bother me tho was that he forgot to mention or even thank Johnnie for being a part of the team. He has been there since my boys were there and I think for years prior. I know I wasn't the only one to notice. I hope he apologizes to Johnnie. I'm sure his feelings were hurt.

As a former player at greenup county i can say from experience that he is not a good coach, he was hard on them and that is what they needed but the fact that he made them have boxing mathches when they screwed up is patheitc this is football not boxing. he needs to get his sports in order. and i agree where were all those young athletes that worked and played better than the starting varsity. i know i didnt see them out there. now i cant say that copley played favorotes as bad as sammons. i mean i hated sammons playing under him was a waste of my time. but i never quit i played because i loved playing football even if that meant i only got to play in practice. and i saw first hand on the practice field this past season that alot of those younger men whined way to much. they way i have always gona about it is if you wanna play football then you shut and play the game cause you love the game not cause you think it will make you popular in school. those kids are the ones who will never make it football they always end up quiting, but i do think that the team is getting better they just need to focus and buckle down and maybe they will win a district championship like we did when i played. my life isdedicated to the support of the greenup county football team. good luck next season ill be on the sideline rootin you boys on. GO GREENUP!!!!!!

boxing and wrestling are great ways to get in shape and get better. If you don't think he's a good coach then don't waste ur time being on the sidelines. Last season was copley 1st losing season in his entire football career, but because he has the boys box in the offseason, he is not a good coach?

i played under coach copleys offense and he helped with our 7th and 8th grade team he is a great coach for some of you people who have the dignaty to bad mouth him and uve never met the man its hard to step into a head coachs job and turn a system around we had a hard season and it may not have been a winning won but he beats sammons our 7th grade football team was 3rd in the stae because him and bruce hunt if thats not saying somethin i dont no what is

i have met the man and i have said everything i said on here to his face. and thats right i dont think boxing is good to have them do. wrestling isnt bad but i also never said anything about wrestling in my last message. but when he has them box it is dangerous to their brains. what if they get a concussion or something worse right before the season atleast in a football game there is a steel plated football helmet to help protect you from all that.

Hey Howard someone shuld have made you box. Cause you sure as hell sucked at football and culd have used anything to get better. I like you think you have a clue about how to coach, yet culdnt even play much less coach.

My dad is on the coaching staff at GCHS. He has even said that copley is turning it around, and that he holds kids accountable unlike years past. So any doubters need to hold there tounges till we see what happens.
