A homeless shelter? Tell me that this guy isn't a flight risk. Trying to hide in a hospital and then when that does not work, he goes and hides in a homeless shelter. He might as well go and get arsonist tattooed on his forehead. They need to revoke his bond quick or he will be south of the border giving tourist donkey rides.
UPDATE 3/3/11 @ 6:15 p.m.
LEXINGTON, Ky (WSAZ)-- Kentucky State Police have arrested 46-year-old Bryan Simpson in Lexington Thursday afternoon. He's charged with second-degree arson and tampering with physical evidence in connection with a December fire that destroyed a Greenup County business.
Sgt. Aaron Martin with the Kentucky State Police tells WSAZ.com that Simpson had checked himself into a rehab mental health unit at a Lexington hospital, then went to a veterans homeless shelter. Martin says State Police got a tip and arrested Simpson without incident. Detectives are bringing him back to the Greenup County Detention Center.
We Seen Bryan in the days previous to him checking himself into the hospital in Lexington. He was TRYING to get the admit him through the VA in Huntington. He was in trouble for starving all those horses...or has everyone forgotten that???? Wonder if he will EVER pay for that. I hope he does...the arson is terrible and a sad thing for the community...but I TRULY felt in my heart he had something to do with it from the beginning. I KNOW HIM.

I feel bad for the Sells family (Bob and Ryan) and the loss of their business.....I am sure they THOUGHT they hired a good guy to work for them...BUT they really should have checked around with just a few people......You should already feel you got a bad apple when a feed store worker starved HORSES?? please! Anyone that would do that would do ANYTHING....and I do believe his wife knew every move he made. I rarely seen him without her.

A jury trial for the man accused in 21 counts of second-degree animal cruelty involving 11 horses found dead in Rowan County has been set for December.

Bryan T. Simpson, 45, appeared in Rowan County District Court Wednesday for a pretrial conference in the case where 11 horses were found dead and 10 were discovered malnourished in May 2008 on a farm along KY 32.

The animals were left in the care of Simpson when their owner Don Miller fell sick, said Rowan County Sheriff Deputy Gary Lanham.

When the horses were discovered Miller told police he suffered from a heart condition and was too ill to care for the animals.

Through the investigation, police determined 11 horses had died between January and April 8, 2008.

"Food and water was on the premises, but none was in the stalls with the horses," Lanham said during the investigation in May. "I'm not saying they were starved, but when you look at an animal and its hair is falling out, and you can count every bone, that pretty much tells you it has not received proper care."

According to police, Simpson owed Miller a large sum of money and had been working to pay off the debt by caring for the horses and mending fences.

The trial is set for Dec. 10 and 11 in Rowan District Court. A final pretrial conference is scheduled for Nov. 4 at 10:30 a.m. Attorney Michael Curtis of Ashland is representing Simpson in the case. Assistant Rowan County Attorney Cecil Watkins will be the prosecutor.

This is two separate incidences...I was making a point that he was already in trouble and was a thief. He was taking this man's money to tend his horses and wasn't feeding them, or tending to them!
As for the feed store, they said he was stealing from the owners and he was trying to cover his tracks..so he burned the building and the records...go figure.

Maybe he has mental problems for real but whats his buddy Don's excuse? Whats his wife's excuse, they both knew what was going on. How about the Potter guy he was in there on deals with them. Hell lets dig it all out because if he is mentally incompetent he sure as hell has no business out in public especially leading a bunch of 4h kids. Face it the guy ain't right. Look what he is putting his family through, AGAIN. The boy needs locked up.

He doesn't deserve to "get off" for it but he probably is crazy if he committed arson to try to cover theft! Anyone who mistreats helpless animals had it coming anyway--- especially if he was being paid to essentially abuse them!! Thanks for clarifying.

This is wonderful news especially for the Dalton Feed Store since Bryan owes them an enormous feed bill he never felt the need to pay. Good news!
