I thought graduation at Greenup County was a disgrace. The way people were dressed was a disgrace, one older women had on a tank top with no bra. I grew up in south shore and graduated from Greenup and I know things have changed over the years but it was almost like you were at a basketball game. The students doesn't even have a dress code, girls in flip flops and guys in their work boots and people wonder why we get made fun of. People were up and down through the entire ceremony, you couldn't hear a word and the platform wasn't high enough for the people sitting in the back to even see. I even sat behind of bunch of people that smelled of alcohol. I think whoever is in charge needs to try make some changes. I hope it goes better next year.

I agree. GCHS is a disgrace. From what I hear, there were 32 girls pregnant, some were freshman. GCHS should have a better dress code , or at least go by one. Parents should notice what their children are wearing, but these girls are putting layers on and then taking off when they get to school. Kids run the halls during class, sleep, text, whatever they want to do. If your child is not in sports, or have a family member working for the school, they don't have a chance. There are fights daily, and overlooked if no one is bleeding. Other schools around do have these problems, but not as bad as!

Well lets get one thing straight Mrs. Want to be soccer MOM, the way I see it if you don't like Greenup County High School and the way they work then don't send your damn kid there ... sounds like to me they belong at RUSSELL!!! GREENUP COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL IS JUST A BUNCH OF INNOCENT COUNTRY STUDENTS WHO ARE PROUD OF IT ... INCLUDING ME! It AN'T got nothing to do with the school about pregency, it's the parents and how the kids was raised ... and it sounds to me like your kids needs to be put in birth control, and be checked out for some std's cause they AN'T innocent thereself. I graduated from Greenup, and I worked hard for it! There are rules, dress-codes and etc. BELIEVE ME I WAS IN THE OFFICE THEN STRAIGHT TO DETENCTION A LOT OF TIMES!!! Are you high or something? cause F*CK THE DUMB SH*T ... you don't know what your talking about, and if you don't believe me and you need some growing up to do then your the one that needs to go back and try to finish, that 4 years was not easy but I do admit it was a fun experience!

I too thought what the heck when I heard so many girls were pregnant at GCHS here recently. However you hear of it more and more each year... I heard that there was a pack with a bunch of the girls in one group. They all made a pack to all be pregnant at the same time. Whether this is true or not I don't know.. But I know there were several that were pregnant that use to hang out together. So I'm thinking it may just be true.

And for the girl who said it's the way your parents raised you. Well honey I graduated in 2002, and I've had a crazy childhood. And I didn't turn out to be pregnant before graduating high school. Also I do not form an opinion of the girls/boys having kids before graduation. I've had a couple friends and family members end p like this. The way parents raise kids could influence the way the children end up, but it's the child themselves who do the things they do. I'm sure no parent has held a gun to a child's head and made them do things to become pregnant. If your parents haven't raised you right then be smart and don't do it yourself.

Sorry for the rant, but it makes me mad when people blame things on parents. I've never once blamed my parents for anything I've done. Which I haven't done anything to get in trouble.

I'll remember to pray for every one and I hope children who have not been raised right will be led by God to do the right thing(s) in life.

God Bless You All!!!!

I did not go to graduation this year, so I can't really comment on that. But I've read all the other post, and thought I would leave my 2 cents. I have noticed alot of girls getting pregnant at a young age. BUT, its not just at greenup high. Its everywhere you go! The kids just don't care know of days. Most of the kids that do get pregnant, its their parents raising the child.(NOW I SAID MOST OF THE KIDS NOT ALL OF THEM) Yes some say that other schools have this problem "but, not this bad". I call bullshit on that. They hide it pretty well!!! Try taking a closer look. Also to wheelersburg: "you are the moran AIN'T you." Well don't mean to upset you, BUT the word ain't IS actually in the dictionary. AIN'T - a contraction for are not and am not; also used for is not.:) By the way, Greenup Co. doesn't teach this "funny talk". Its just something that comes nature, kinda like the word "Burg".

Agreed on BOTH counts. You have the right to send your kid to another school. Raceland is just down the highway. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

Blaming the school system for pregnancies is a cop-out! They way you talk it's like the school is providing beds for them to hump in. Why don't you put blame where it belongs...society in general and parents being specific. The lack of morals and values is to blame not the school system. DUH!!!

So what if kids become pregnant. I graduated from GCHS in 2005 and the ones who became pregnant fell into 2 categories, Those who made it, Those who dropped out. Its not the school systems fault that when two people get together they make baby-badder. As for graduation ceremony SO what if it "wasn't up to your standards" YOU are not the one graduating I was so thrilled just to get out the place. We could have had graduation in the football field for all I cared because I was getting waisted and fornicating with some fat girls that night, never to look back again on GCHS. Its High-School not some high fluting private school with yachts and Bentley cars. Greenup county folk are either, Underpaid,Overpaid,Husslers,We lfarians, I graduated with honor's I speak well smell well look good make good money. And came from a public school based on property tax in Kentucky. So BOOYA =D

Go Burg!!!!!!! I could keep on and on about this whole graduation thing it obviously has upset ya'll that is how you say it, right? Well, I did graduate from Greenup and my whole point here was to draw attention the the graduation cermeony that took place. Not to point fingers at the students who graduated or the girls that were pregnant just to maybe let people know that I have seen nicer ceremonies. I hope for the students and the parents next year ceremony is alittle better put together. I will be at graduation next year so why don't ya'll look me up.lol
