everyone that pays taxes and needs the help should get it.We are not saying all hespianics should not be here or recieve the same as someone born here just all those that dont take the time to get there papers and come here the right way should not have any rights at all. those are the ones everybody wants gone and make it hard for everyone

Stop with the blaming the illegal immigrants, it is the government with the problem. I am recievinng food stamp bennefits and get paid well over the amount of what we would eat in a month. I am an American, born and raised and white. I can go to the store and buy any food item with enough left over to build up my food storage. My family is eating better than most. Getting more money than what we would normally eat in a month is not my choice, but the governments. Everything needs to be taken into concideration. And for those who smoke, they should give the money used on smokes for something like the patch or pill or whatever, so they will eventually be able to stop smoking and actually be able to use food stamp money of food and not cigarrets.
So, if you don't need that much assistance, WHY are you accepting it? You're as bad as the illegals and drug dealers, if that is true.

thats a good plan there, but like i said its not just them, its the ones who use them for drugs and all too that need to be looked at
thats why they should require drug testing for anyone who wants to receive assistance.

I think this is a step in the right direction...with drug testing being the other major step that is needed. I have recently found myself in need of food stamp assistance myself. It has been harder for us since we are a two parent household and seem to have to work harder to prove our need. My husband is disabled and I work AND attend college. Atleast we will soon be able to get off the assistance while others will no doubt be using the system as long as they can. It's not right to see women with name brand clothes, manicured nails, and perfectly highlighted hair buying soda and candy with foodstamps! For me, living with my thrift store clothes, bitten off nails, and splitends while working toward a better future for my kids is well worth it. I sure don't want to be paying for illegal immigrants or drug addicts when I have my own kids to take care of.

I need the help right now, and like I said, I have no choice in the amount they give me. Better to have more and save for the future, when all of this will be obsolete, than have none at all. They won't just lower your limit because you don't consume that much. It's strickly off numbers: household income/expenses, number of people in the home, etc. Just as those who need more, or any at all, I have no say. At least doing some good with mine.

Well, I'll give you MY grocery list, seeing as how I am paying for the groceries, and can't afford a damn bottle of PB & J myself. How's that!

Originally Undocumented food stamps were ok to help feed the migrant workers. Now its out of hand and abused by many. It needs to stop!

I hate it when I go to the store and see the abusers with grocery carts (plural) brimming over the top of the baskets with food.

I am retired and on a fixed income I usually only buy whats on sale. And barley make it out of the store with 2 bags of groceries for the week!

Many of the abusers go to the food pantry's for their food sell their food stamps and get a percentage of the food stamps in cash. Then they go buy drugs and beer etc!

Sometime wish we could take the people that have posted their feelings , all go to a library and work this out.

Wouldn't that be a lot easier then having our politions control our monies, etc.

I really feel bad for the single parent that works and pays taxes and kids and them are hungry. I have been in your shoes and know how frusting this is.

I have had people in Northern Utah want to sell me food from these bennifits for cash. So they didn't
need the help for food!!!

I have a question for a lot of you guys blaming everything on illegals. How do u guys know that the people using the food stamps at the store are illegals? Because they look hispanic? I am a singal mom of 4 daughters, i was born here my parents are us citizens, i have food stamps because even though i have two jobs with 4 daughters that i support on my own yet i look hispanic and speak perfect spanish. So just for does two things i might be one of the ones u guys point fingers at the store for pay with food stamps n looking hispanic. so how do u know they are illegal? or do u go up to them n ask them?

Well, Rhonda, for the large majority of people in Utah, your last name implies that you have an "illegal" last name, ergo, you are an illegal. How racist Utah is supposed to tell the difference between one illegal that claims to be Utahn and another that is on the list and claims to be legal and for all Utahns, all Mexicans look the same. I'll bet that you fit the description of an illegal to a tee, so don't make waves trying to appear "legal." Remember, for Utahns is not what or who you claim to be, but how you look and when they find out that your last name is Mexican, well you will up the creek without a paddle. Remember, in racist Utah, with a name like Salazar and looking Mexican you have two strikes and if your name appear on the list, that means three strikes and you are out. Don't complain too much or make waves or the tea partiers will come after you like the nazis did with Jews.

I feel pretty sympathetic for a lot of families that might lose food stamps, but I know first hand that many people are irresponsible and take advantage of it. I worked as a cashier at a grocery store for two years, and most people who bought groceries with an EBT card bought very little other than junk food. And it was very common to see them buy junk food with EBT, then have a separate order of beer and cigarettes which they paid for with what little cash they had left. It makes me wonder if a lot of kids would actually be better off if their parents weren't allotted food stamps.

I am a divorced mother of 2 for 15 years and a disabled veteran. I have never taken a dime of welfare. I needed edical coverage for my kids and help with food, diapers, daycare, etc. I have paid and continue to pay a high price for my disability. I am greatful for every bit of assistance I've ever received and I thank everyone who has ever contributed. I surely wouldn't be as well as I am today without it. I only used it while I needed it and can proudly say I do not use it today. That is the key...
