Also, Sunday - I just want to say that your presence on this site is so uplifting to me. It is nice to see that there are people out there who still think about Talon. Any of the people who have been posting throughout this ordeal clearly have a heart of compassion for this poor child. I frequently check his blog to see what is happening, but I can understand how hard it is to keep posting on it when there is now no hope of his return.
Thank you Newby...it is nice to see so many caring people, when they seem very hard to find these days...at least the ones who do not judge and hold their superiority over the less fortunate. By the way, did you notice that "Hib" is listed as being from NV on one post and UT on another? A fake for sure...probably that other creep that I thought we got rid of...won't mention the name.

It is hard to believe that almost two years have passed since Destino was returned to his mother and his people. Just goes to show you that the justice system does work, albeit at times slowly.

Merry Christmas to Destino and his family.

Danny you are an idiot....the little boy has been in and out of foster homes this whole time, while his parents are in and out of jail, and heroin treatment programs. He would have had a much better life with the Larson's...."his people" are trash.

This is a sad, very sad situation with no winners. Well, only God knows for sure. Why would a white family would want to adopt an indian child, when there are soooo many white children without anybody to take care of them, but the state and the state is not the best source to take care of children. It was reported by the media that many people were claiming to be of indian descent for money purposes, AKA greed and for those the welfare of children is as far from their minds as the bing bang theory is from Earth. Let me see if I understand this. Who massacred Americans natives to almost extinction? U got it, whites adn what states, now, are the ground zero of bigotry? How about Utah, Arizona and and the deep South. Not that the others were not racist, but that they were not as brutal, racist. Maybe, also, it could be that many whites feel ashamed of the way the owners of America were massacred and now they want to make mends, but with such background of bigotry and attocities committed against Native Americans, we have to take this epifany with a grain of salt. Would a Jew trust a nazi that claims he/she has the best intentions for a child? There could be a possibility, but nobody would bank on it. Hey, teacher, leave those indians (kids) alone.

There is one thing that you forget....the mother of this child told the adoption agency that she was mostly white...so the Larson's thought that they were getting a primarily white baby....your point has been lost in your argument because you did not know the whole story of the adoption. Please read back in the posts and you will be more informed.

I was referring, not only to the article, but to the many cases, including some in this forum, where indian children were raised off the reservation and growing up, they felt that they didn't fit there. In other words, they felt left in limbo. Maybe you ignore the love that children feel for their own tribe, fathers, but if you listen or read about how Mexicans families are torn apart by the "American dream", in many cases, many children said that they rather go hungry that away frtom their parents, country. One case, as with a swallow, don't make it right, nor the summer make. Children should be raised by their own, unless they are exposed to harm or abuse, in which it wouldn't matter any way. How many white children are not abused by their parents, relatives. But, for most, family is the safest place for children.

I agree with you, that if at all possible, children do better with their own family, but sadly, the situation with many Indian children, is that their families are lost to drugs, prostitution, alcohol etc. It has become a genetic self destructiveness, I am afraid...it comes from loosing one's country, and way of life, generations back. If a child is in danger, or being harmed, that child deserves to be raised by a family who loves him, no matter the color of the pigmentation of the damned skin. We are Americans, and we all come from different cultural backgrounds, but in this country, we are the people....there is no Indian culture anymore, and I don't care what anyone says...they try to hang on to some remnant of what used to be, but it is destroyed, and that is sad...but it is the truth, and the sooner we tell the truth and try to do better for our children, the sooner more children will get to remain with their own families.

This is a good example of why some middle ground needs to be found regarding the Indian Child Welfare Act. I was also harmed by this act. I was taken from the state foster care system when the tribe intervened on the child protection. The tribe without question or further investigation handed me back to an abusive parent. They did impose minimal restrictions, such as counseling, but did not follow up to make sure they were abided by. It took them 3 years to realize that I should not be with that parent. That's three years of abuse they could have prevented. Until the child protection system on the reservations is better equipped, there is something to be said for leaving a child where they are safe and loved.
There is an Indian Child Welfare Act????

You must be a tea partier or republican or both ad tat mens tat you do't kow wat are you talking about. The pilgrims stole the American natives' lands, so talking "welfare" from the stealers makes as much sense as a thief calling his/her victims the criminals. What part of stealing and massacring the indians for their lands don't you understand. In penitence for being so stupid, so racist say five Hail Marys and three Our Fathers and I don't care if you are Mormon, gentile, or Jew or Christian or atheist.

Seeker, the ICWA (Indian Child Welfare Act) was put in place to revent certain religious groups from going onto the reservations and taking Indian/Native children. Here in American, we Native people are called "Indians"....a Columbus mistake...so that makes you a kiss'n cousin. ;>)

UPDATE ON THIS CHILD:
THE MOTHER WENT ON TO HAVE TWO MORE CHILDREN AND GAVE THEM UP TO UTAH ADOPTERS, ONLY TO HAVE THE TRIBE ALSO REMOVE THEM. SHE LOST CUSTODY OF ALL OF HER CHILDREN, AND SO THEY ALL WALLOW IN "INDIAN FOSTER HOMES", AND WILL UNTIL THEY ARE 18!!!!! ONE OF THEM IS DEEMED UNADOPTABLE BECAUSE SHE HAS MESSED HIM UP SO BAD. SO THIS LITTLE TALON IS NOW DESTROYED AS A HUMAN BEING, JUST SO THAT THE TRIBE COULD SHOW THE WHITE MAN WHO HAS THE "POWER" IN THIS SITUATION. ICWA LAWS DESPERATELY NEED TO BE CHANGED!!! ALL THOSE WHO WERE ON THE BIRTH MOTHER'S SIDE, I HOPE YOU ARE HAPPY NOW.
