Both my Dad and my Grandfather worked there. Still live in SSP to this day. I don't work there though.

I remember those days even though I was young, my father worked there at Armours and I wouldn't call those the Great Days of South St. Paul.

I really wish the city council would use that land a different way instead of building those useless buildings that will sit empty. Our city council sucks. Get some fresh blood in there already, out with the old, in with the new.

Scroller, the smell isn't from the stockyards only. Over on the other side of the river, north side of 494 bridge, there is a garbage dump site there, that is a horrible smell all day long every day.

I worked one summer at Armour. One week I worked in the cooler and had to wear my winter coat on the bus in July. My great-uncle Herman was an elevator operator in the plant and he got me the summer job. Paid well and was able to help feed the family at home with the meat I could buy at a low price. Other than that I vowed that , that was not the place I wanted to spend my life. Back to the University.
