Election day is fast approaching. Who are the best candidates to represent our schools? I want to see our schools grow and excel with leadership and intergrity. Leadership starts at the top, integrity is a way of life. Who will represent our kids in the best way possible?

Bernard Kincaid
Jacque Tyler
Mike Nance
Fred Clay
Tom Roberts
Mike Jones
Bernard Kinder
Terry Blake

Kinder and Blake will be York's puppets. Wasn't Blake on the board that decided to build the school and a sand hill?

You vote for three this year. Tyler, and Nance are for sure good picks. Roberts is a third one but not at the top of the list. This school deserves better and these kids deserve better. The current board need to go and so does Ken. I cannot believe how far this school system is falling as far as quality education. They hire teachers based on the good ole boy system not based on quality teaching. It's really sad. If we could get all five members out it would be a great start toward moving in the right direction. I'm just saying.

Our kids "Can't" use the gyms, "Can't" use the fields, "Can't" have field trips, "Can't" have a fall festival, "Can't" have a 5th grade trip. You get the picture.

Does Mr. York know that he has this much power?

I've seen other threads on Topix that say he did this to the school and he did that to the school, like he is the ONLY person that decides this stuff. All five people that are on the board right now vote on issues but he seems to get all the credit (blame).

Does that mean you think that those four other voting members are his puppets too?

When a man has that much power it isn't going to matter who you elect since he will have them all dancing to his tune <where is that sarcasm icon when you need it>.

South Point school system is becoming a BIG JOKE. Lie, lie, and tell another lie is the school board and some of the principal's motto. I cannot wait to vote YES on issue 2!!! Pay your own retirement, like the regular working person does. My husband works 70+ hours a week to help pay into his retirement and the government employees need to do the same!!! Every employee needs to be held accountable for their future, and stop depending on the ones that actually have to work for a living, to have to pay for your retirement as well!!! ARE YOU GETTING THE PICTURE???? If you are a good employee, you do not need the union to cover for your lazy behind!!!!!!!!!!

Hey stupid maybe you need educated on the system. We do pay our own retirement. It comes right out of our paychecks. After a long time we get a matching amount just like any other working joe. Difference in being a teacher and doing it is we're required BY LAW to put a certain amount where as you regular workers put the smallest amount you can. So vote NO on Issue 2 and while you aare at it, read up on the issues idiot!

These employees do pay their retirement and a large part of their medical insurance. Sounds like you are real smart NOT. 60 people loose their jobs means 60 people not shopping local businesses ... 60 people loosing their homes and not paying taxes. 60 more people leaving our area to find work.

Issue 2 is a terrible law. As a teacher we do pay into our retirement. People forget that we all have college degrees but we are among the lowest paid professionals in the country. If we lose our union our pay will only continue to fall below the national average for educated professionals. Unfortunately, the union does protect some very useless teachers, and South Point has more than it's share. But the union is necessary to protect the good teachers.

You are also the largest public employee union that won't submit to a drug test.

I will take a drug test any day of the week. And I know most of my fellow teachers will too. I say do it because that would help us get rid of some of the teachers who don't deserve to be there.

You shouldn't be able to hold the community hostage by demanding more of our money in exchange for our young people's education, most teachers do it because they love it, thanks for serving our community.

They are a d umbass and didnt study the bill enough to know it hurts more than teachers!!!! prolly born with a silver spoon hanging out of their mouth. Maybe a teacher stole their spouse and this is a way to try and pay them back.... Hahahaha!!! let the fool vote how they want to,it shouldnt pass either way.
