Diamond Ranch needs their own football field. Turn it into a sports comnplex for the community --DB Pop Warner, AYSO, and others -- and home field for Diamond Ranch...Our kids need a place to call their own.

How would you feel if you where forced to leave the only home that you've ever known? That is what they are trying to do to these Lanterman clients. And for what??? Money? Really?

Maybe building a sewer treatment plant there would be what that area deserves...

It isn't polite of you to say that.
Lanterman clients are far more likely to die in the community due to health care issues that are more complex than you would likely ever care to know. If you had a family member with such diagnoses, you might be more considerate. So try, just try and put yourself in someone else's shoes and learn some empathy toward others.

I am just tired of all the freeloaders in society thinking the government owes them a good life.

FYI, I had a mental case aunt, who played the system to the max. When she came over to my families house one day trying to mooch and my father was not home; I threatened to boot her worthless asse, and all of a sudden she wasn't so nuts.

My ex had a mom who WAS nuts. She lived in a board and care with low paid, untrained staff. She had a huge growth on her neck that went untreated and ended up dead from a choking incident. That would NOT happen at a facility like Lanterman. I fear the clients there will suffer the consequences of "community placement."

Spoon, that should not have happened at the board and care facility. Those are overseen by counselors of regional centers who check those places out, part of their job. But, due to lack of funding and more client/patients in need, the counselor's keep seeing their caseloads growing higher and probably the counselors were spread thin. This is what happens when the budget gets whacked! Look also to what is happening in the prison system where due to budget cuts prisoners are being released early. CA has lots of problems and more just around the corner. The level of service is going down the toilet!

Too true, lady. Fact is, if we keep dumbing down health care to where someone with no license or degree and making minimum wage is watching our loved ones, you're flirting with disaster. Saving money is not worth risking lives.
