THANK YOU for making one of the only educated assessments of this tragic situation. No amount of arguing or blaming can reverse what has happened. And sadly, yes, we have lost TWO MORE (young) black men to violence and the prison system. Egos are a powerful force to be reckoned with and it breaks my heart to see the lives destroyed, ruined, torn apart and the pain that we cause each other due to the desire to "save face" or "man up ". DEAD MEN HAVE NO GLORY. And neither does spending a life behind bars, quarantined from the world. Where's the compassion? Many of us are parents. Do we really want our kids acting this way? What ever happened to fist fights that ended in friendship? Now we just kill each other when we don't like something someone says or does, and then go home and brag about it. Really people? Who made YOU God? Who gave you the right to take LIVES? I picture dying men lying bloody on the streets, their lives draining by the second as their loved ones scream for help....or worse, sit at home clueless. And some of you have the nerve to say they DESERVE it? What if that dying man were YOUR brother, YOUR father, YOUR son, YOUR uncle, YOUR cousin? What you fail to see is that HE IS. We are ONE whether you see it or not.You all are on here emotional, which is great because there is dialogue and no violence. Something happened that night but none of us were there. My friend might go to jail for life and someone's son went to the grave. This is not a joke people. Who ever was right or wrong that night doesn't even matter now. Two of our black men acted like children and perpetuate a stereotype that I thought President Obama stood to destroy. I never knew Flex, but he was a black man who had a choice to walk away or fight and he didn't. I know Gilbert, he is a man who has made many mistakes but none of which is a stone cold killer. Guess what people, no matter what we say or do, none of us were there, none of us will be on the witness stand and none of us will be judge or jury. So express your feelings as you may but continue to remember that we need to be respectful to each other and continue to support Flex's family and Gilbert who both have had their lives ripped apart based on a extremely bad decision they both made.
