Feb 22, 2013 Full story: Whittier Daily News 1,304

The stalker of the principal of St. Bruno School made reservations for a wedding at the parish, with an extravagant Hawaiian style lei and a photographer in an attempt to lure the principal into a fake ceremony, according to a lawsuit filed against the school, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the school principal.

Nobody is RECEIVING iPads. Families have to purchase one for each of their kids. If you thought the fancy pants were pricey think about the initial technology cost and eventual replacement costs as they break.

I agree that the new uniforms were a very bad idea to roll out this time. Morale is so low, many parents are still wavering, and the added expense (about 300 for a boy) is a burden. keep in mind the school has enough reserves to cover the next school year. It's the following years that will suffer.

The replacement of Writing to Read with Pup's Quest is an interesting development for next year's students at Saint Bruno.

Looking at Pup's Quest website you can read how they are currently developing and beta testing this product in Los Angeles area schools. Yay for Saint Bruno kids, you are now educational guinea pigs! Read it for yourself at the bottom of the following link.

http://www.pupsquest.com/pup/mission/mission....

Also from their website "Pup’s Quest™ is still in development, but we've been testing the game in classrooms and the kids absolutely love it!"

As a former software purchaser I am assuming that Saint Bruno is getting this program for free as it is still not ready for sale to the market.

This is very sad.

Depending on the reserve to bailout the principal and vice principal's poor choices is a bad business move. Bruno is looking for anything free. Subsidies will be there ultimate downfall. Leadership making another poor choice. Wow

I feel sorry for victims of domestic violence but children should ALWAYS come first.

I give props to the San Diego Archdiocese for thinking of the children first.

Once the aggressor showed up on campus and violated his restraining order it became an unsafe environment for the children.

The San Diego Archdiocese is thinking ahead and realizes that behavior is unpredictable and does not want to take any chances.

I hope this woman can find peace and a job where she does not have to be around children.

This story sure sounds familiar!

The vote for Student Council was postponed until next year because the administration respected the wishes of several returning parents. The request was made by parents for two reasons. One, is to avoid hurt feelings which would arise from a voting method that would exclude those children who are not returning. And two, to ensure those children elected for Student Council are voted in to office by students who have a real stake in the elections. The children, those that are leaving and those that will remain, deserve a peaceful week (and few days) to finish up their classes, say goodbye to friends and begin making plans for the summer. An election, where a large number of students would rightfully need to be excluded, would make a challenging week of "goodbye" much more difficult for our children.
I was directed to this site this morning by a parent who noted a post about uniforms. These days I'm a bit obsessed with uniforms.:-). When I saw this post I wanted to clarify any misconceptions about the postponement of Student Council elections. As one of the parents who requested this of Miss Carvalho, I would be more then happy to answer any questions or listen to shared concerns. Looking forward to a peaceful summer for all!!
The problem is you are wedged so tightly in Miss Carvalho's pocket, nothing you say can be taken as truth.

Our family is friends with the Dove family and I think your comment is unfair to Mary's accurate post. While our family is leaving Saint Bruno, I respect some of the families that are staying and working to make the best of it. Many are not blind to the destruction of the community and are doing what they can in support of their kids.

More teachers left on Friday. What a year my child had sub teacher after sub teacher. One day the sub was subbed by a parent. The parent was not a professional teacher. The principal and vice principal had so many meeting with each other, having grandpa's sit in classrooms, asking parents to spy for her; our children's education suffered

Quality teachers out and research the one's coming in

Real hero? Obviously you know nothing of the woman. She did more harm at the school than you will ever know. If you admire her, it is because you didn't really know her. Her treatment of other people, before this stalker fiasco even started, was un-Christian at best. She never showed an ounce of empathy to anyone. She only notified people about the stalking issue out of vengeance. A master catechist/wolf in sheep's clothing. She should feel shame at all the heartache she has caused by her heinous actions.

That's like saying the doctor caused the cancer in a victim. While we may not have appreciated what she exposed, it existed whether she said anything or not.

You are absolutely correct Saldana exposed then wolf in sheep clothing. The principal and the vice principal are exposed that is why the mass exodus of children and staff from the school. Saldana has not caused any heartache. She is not the one chasing parents, teachers , asking parents to assist her in immature behaviors.

I'm glad it's easy for you to move on and not look back.while you do that I will be praying for the families and their kids forced to leave, praying for the jobless teachers, for the kids wondering why their lives were turned upside down, All the people ( including senior parishioners) harassed and interviewed over countless hours, children being questioned to get dirt on families, all the families who had social workers called on them, all the parents who had their work supervisors called, all the people asked to be spy's, all the people yelled at on citrus tree road, all the kids who didn't know who their teacher would be from day to day, the people filing lawsuits, the families and teacher who tried to warn us, etc..... you move on and I'll be praying for our parish and the los Angeles archdiocese to start caring for the kids. Have fun moving on!
