You mean the post location? Yeah. I noticed that too. South Carolina. LOL!!! Sometimes location changes on this site with no explanation. Mine did a few years ago. Stan and Kyle's did too. But not to another state like S&K's did. I'm waiting for it to change again. Have you noticed stuff like that?
So, you're Musicologist. I believe Stan and Kyle has spoken highly of you. Nice to meet you.
Thank you so much.

I see where your address says Hillsboro, OH. I have family in Highlands County (Lynchburg).

Yes, those IP's can change on a daily basis, when I "graybox", God knows what's gonna appear as my address, lol.

Nice to meet you likewise (^_^)

Oooops. Sorry. Spelled your name wrong.

And I see you have your green address saying Kentucky. Is that your state? I have relatives there. What a coincidence! Lynchburg, OH? A cousin grew up there. And he lives in Kentucky now. Hey, maybe you and I have more in common than we think. I'd ask for names but it's probaly not a good idea to post personal info. Stan and Kyle once told me he has family near Columbus.

On locaation change. Mine only changed one time a couple years ago. Was Grove City. I'm waiting for it to do it again. I seem to be stuck. Funny thing is that all my old posts made under Grove City changed to say Hillsboro. Weird.

Wow! My aunt (by marriage) has a sister in Grove City.

Also, I have music forums/threads in both Lynchburg and Grove City, along with several other Ohio towns such as West Chester, Sharonville, Batavia, Harrison, Ironton, Portsmouth, etc...

I've been considering creating a thread in Hillsboro.

Yes, I'm a native Berea, Kentuckian.

I like to change my address on my registered account on a daily basis, I dunno, it's just kinda fun.

Interesting. Back when my gray box was saying Grove City I met someone on another forum that claimed to have family connections there. Don't recall the name though. Do you have family elsewhere in Highland county? Guess I can officially call myself a "highlander" since my posts say I'm in the highlands. Well, let me officially invite and welcome you to come to the Hillsboro, OH Forum and build your thread. Music tames the savage beast. It did wonders for King Saul as David played on his harp in the Bible story.

Thanks for the music forums/threads info. I'm going to copy and paste it to a Notepad page and save it. Will definitely try to look them up and read them when I get a chance. And maybe have some fun someday looking for the unmentioned ones (in your etc... indication). Funny thing. I don't recall ever myself ever starting a thread in Grove City. But I have a few scattered here and there in Hillsboro.

My user name. At the time "anonymous california" seemed interesting to go by. I was being anonymous in Cali. It grew into A.C. for short. Either lastoutlaw (don't know if you ever met him yet ... he's being very elusive these days) or S&K dubbed me that. I even started a thread on L.A. asking for suggestions for a better user name. I'm not into that name now because I have read (in some threads) that some people have used the name "anonymous" to stalk others on Topix. I had the idea to register with the name "A.C." and have a phrase in my green box saying "plugged into Topix" meaning a reference to AC (Alternating Current; electricity) and have a photo of Uncle Fester (from the "Addams Family TV show") with a light bulb lit up and sticking out of his mouth like he did on the show. But I am yet to register. Foolish me I guess. Don't you think it's weird that websites request stuff like Zip Code and Gender and even one's Birthdate for sign up stuff?

Hmmmmm. LOL. I don't know if my gray box address will stay or change. Was Central Ohio. Now Southern Ohio. I'm shooting for Northern next. HA. How S&K got over to South Carolina is beyond me. Unless he's an imposter posting as our Stan and Kyle! There was a poster on this forum last year that created quite a stir over religion under that address.

I got a lot of relatives there. I love Kentucky. The hills are beautiful. Haven't been there for quite a while now though. Been way over a decade. Might not look the same. LOL!!!

Well, how about changing it to say "Bluegrass, Ky". HA!

Have any threads in Kentucky forums?

Would like to think of more on Kentucky to say. But gotta go for now.

I was thinking maybe S&K was attending a NASCAR race and was posting from SC.....maybe?? I'm fairly certain that's the real S&K though.

Do I have forums in Kentucky....LOL LOL....YES!!!!

I have at least one music forum in all 120 counties here, usually more than one.

For instance: yesterday I created music forums in Grundy (VA), Virgie, Wheelwright, and Hellier.

In Pike county alone, I have threads in Pikeville, Belfry, Phelps, Elkhorn City, Henry Clay, Fedscreek, Robinson Creek, and the aforementioned Virgie and Hellier.

What county/counties are you family from in KY, because I assure you.....I'm there, lol.

I also have forums in other countries.

Hmmmmm. Very interesting. Very interesting indeed.

Reminds me of the time that I suggested to lastoutlaw that there may be another A.C. running around out there pretending to me. It was when the used Dell desktop blue-screened and I think I was on Topix at the time. So, I never had a chance to delete cookies and history and temporary internet files. Gave it away. But IF the dude got it working without a wipe clean, he -- or someone else for that matter -- would potentially have access to my then Topix acivities. I think he may be convinced that I am an imposter in Hillsboro who has taken on the persona of "anonymous california". That maybe that would explain the jump from Grove City. That maybe this A.C. never did get back on after the computer went down and everything after that is from "Imagination Land". Could be why outlaw has been keeping his distance. HA! HA! HA! Funny stuff. Or is it?!

Gone crazy. Could it be a virus or something? What's happening? I know people can be taken to other websites out of the blue ... but?! Is it only occuring on Topix?

By the way, anyone seen Irving lately?

Always keep in mind that human language or mind is not equipped to adequately discuss or grasp the greatest mystery of all - God, the Father, the Holly Spirit, Master of the Universe, Lord of Lords. There is a VAST GAP between what IS and what we can begin to describe or comprehend. We should always know the extent of our ignorance and limitation. We don't define God. He defines us. Therefore, our minds will never be equipped to "describe" "HIM". Many disagreements arise only because of pure semantics and lack of imagination... The Bible is the most important document we have, but you should never take the Bible literally. God manifests Himself in ALL living things. He manifested Himself in Jesus, just as He manifests himself in every flower, plant, and EVERY person, including YOU, the reader of this post.

WOW! Sounds like you really get around the Topix world. You probaly have threads all over just about every U.S. forum there is. I wouldn't doubt it if you took your tour international. You may just be the one that holds the record for most created threads.

Thanks for listing some of your KY threads. I will copy and paste them to that Notepad file I made for the OH threads you listed.

Hey "Music", if I may call you that, seeing how have so many threads in various cities, you may be the one to ask this. Have you noticed how a thread started in a city forum somehow spills over to surrounding or nearby cities and they get that same exact thread in their forum? Anyway, do you know of a way to know when starting a thread which places that will automatically occur in? For example, if you started a thread on the Los Angeles forum, could you know where it would spill over to? Maybe each county has a city that if you make a thread on, it will go to all city forums of that county? Towns, villages, if they have a forum included too.

On a side note, looks like we have witnessed the return of this thread's OP and in a big way.

I know that some of my threads in smaller communities "bleed" over into bigger towns.

For example:

I have a music thread in Van Lear, and it can be viewed also in Paintsville. Thats because Paintsville is the county seat of Johnson County (and a bigger place), and it gathers threads from smaller communities such as Van Lear, Flatgap, Staffordsville, Oil Springs, etc.

There are a few cases where a thread is seen in different counties altogether.

For example:

My Beverly music thread. Beverly is a small place in Clay County, but many of the posting there concern the Hopkinsville community.Hoptown is in far western Ky. BUT....there is a part of that town that locals refer to as Beverly.

Another example, and this one puzzles me greatly:

The topix folks have combined the Bryan Station forum (Lexington) with the Brodhead forum. Those two towns are 50 miles apart.

Thanks for going out of the way to tell me all that. A wonderful 'social networking geography lesson' that I will have to go back and study your post.

Wow. I bet what you just explained on how Topix "incorporates" and "combines" certain town/city forum threads could also apply to why some people get the post location display they get. I mean, I know the FAQ says that it is our ISP location that shows and that that may or may not be our actual location. But maybe what you just said could explain and shed some light on how Topix pools certain IP ranges together. Also, I think someone with a ISP that doesn't have a town/city forum represented on Topix would possibly be bumped to the nearest one. A lot of people whine about why their location says what it says. I've questioned mine a time or two for sure. But I guess the 'Topix forum map grid' thing could be a factor as it relates to the way the various ISP's have their stuff mapped out. I don't know. But then I guess it would also be a whole different ball game for those using a proxy thing. Everything just seems to bleed from the inside out with these forums.

So, are you saying that posting in the smaller forums guarantee a appearance in a bigger forum? Or does it go both ways? Probaly a lot of grey area in this matter. HA!

It goes both ways, I have noticed. But posting in the smaller place, pretty much guarantees an appearance in the bigger town MORE SO than the other way around.
