I was listening on the scanner at how S.P.P.D we running around trying to control traffic and guide trucks in. Luckily no houses were lost. I would've though it was caused by a 710 supporter arsonist. I guess some residents could have invested in this huge sprinkler http://www.nelsonirrigation.com/products/inde... and a pump to suck their pool dry.

More 710 Supporter Arsonists should heed the call and provide a scorched path for the completion of the long delayed Long Beach Freeway to The Sea. This area needs to be cleared of NIMBY obstructionists.
Lets tap into the oil and gas pipelines that crisscross the area and install flame throwers.

The fire department should be ashamed of themselves. The fire was put out by my neighbor using his garden hose. They never made it up Bank where the fire was and set up blocks away from where the fire was at. I've never seen so many trucks and fireman doing nothing. Kudos to the helicopters who assisted with the water drops. America's heros my ars.

Everyone is an expert. Your comment proves that common sense is in short suppy.
I was there too and the fire department didn't position themselves so as to endanger the residents or themselves. THEY are the experts, they are the professonals. They knew the size of the fire and the probability of how the fire might advance with the conditions present. what appeared to your "expert" eye as incompetence, was infact, a routine judgement to depend on a water drop which they scheduled. In other words, they brought more firefighters to back up the water drop.
Conclusion: Firfighters are noble, hard working professionals with a crazy job description I wouldn't want, so hats off to them!!
Incedentally, did you pitch in and help your neighbor with the hose job? by the sounds of it I doubt it. You sat on your hands and waited for the firefighters, whos performance you criticize in hindsight.
what a schmuck.

"these fire guys" not even close grammer man. The firefighters deserve all the benefits they get. Does your job put your life at risk? I highly doubt it.

My life is given to the cause of completing this vital freeway link above ground as it must be. Time for a battalion of Cat D90s to start their advance to the 210 from Valley Blvd.

How sad, a brush fire bring out 710 freeway bickering..... I watched that giant apartment fire in Alhambra a year back from the top of the Atlantic 10 parking complex, but it never accured to me that it was freeway related...... four city engine companies responded to the fire, LA Alhambra San Marino, if all the trucks that showed up headed into the fire area up Rollin and Bank both narrow dead end streets, not only the residents would be trapped unable to escape the fire men and equipment would have been lost if the fire had spread to the many homes surrounding the fire. Im not a fireman or a public employee union member, or freeway fighter or tunnel lover, but the firemen did a great job, and thanks for a water dropping helicoptor for being available and responded quickly.... I was there on Meridian as the first crews arrived. as for the guy with the water hose... maybe you and your neighbors need to trim your trees away from the power lines....
