What these officers NEED to do is to give out citations to THE MORONS WHO JAY-WALK ACROSS STREETS AT A LEISURELY PACE!!! Usually, I just throw a cup of soda on the idiots as I drive by. I always stop for NORMAL people who use crosswalks. If you are going to jay-walk in front of ME, I suggest you get a 'move on '!!!!

So we are suppose to obey the laws and the police don't? I had a PPD car make a right turn and not wait for me to totally cross the street. I wish I got his plate number. Also saw APD run a stop sign at a high rate of speed with someone stopped in their vehicle at the intersection. The officer didn't have his lights or sirens on.

Maybe it was illegal for them to block the street and sit their on their motorcycles waiting for people to pass by on Main St.

When the brainless jerks take their time crossing the street , I say,"PRETEND you care about your life !" A good spit works as well when they aggravate you !

A soda works better - especially when it hits the moron and just covers him/her with stickyness. I have done it in the morning on the way to my office as I drive by a local High School - I can only imagine how angry the little moron must be as he sits in class wasting his time and the time of the students that actually want to learn.

You do a disservice to your readers when you spread misinterpretations of the law.

The CVC does not require that "motorists must wait until pedestrians cross the street completely before entering a crosswalk".

The law requires the driver to yield right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. However, People v. McLachlan, 36 Cal.App.2d Supp. 754, states that "Questions of right of way arise between two users of the highway only when there is danger of a collision between them if both proceed on their respective ways without delay."

It then concludes therefore that "a driver, after having allowed a pedestrian to proceed undisturbed and unhurried in front of him and to reach a place safely out of the way of his automobile, with no apparent further danger of conflict between them, may proceed. He need not continue to wait until the pedestrian has cleared the roadway."

Yea, tell the cop about this while he writes you a ticket!

Wow. Citing unsafe drivers in Alhambra?!

Sounds like a perpetual cash cow if you ask me.

It's great that they are trying to raise awareness, the departments on the westside of LA have been doing this constantly for years. I hope this continues here for some time and I hope they consider doing this in Old Town Pasadena also. I wouldn't say it's only "Asians" that break this law, it's people of all backgrounds. Of the drivers that killed pedestrians recently three were Hispanic, one asian and one white. The Bottom line is everyone needs to drive a little more carefully when entering crosswalks.

The Chino's, as well as the rest of the "new" citizens don't even know or care about the law, or how to drive in America. They could write 114 tickets every day for a year and they still wouldn't understand what they are being ticketed for. They run commercials on proper driving in China because the retards have killed so many pedestrians in the homeland.
yeah us Chinese people have the money to pay for the citations so <^>.

I support more of these operations. Pedistrians have no cage to protect them from drivers thus drivers must be more careful. All you hurried drivers who are throwing sodas or spitting must not have kids who ever cross the street. Children and the ederly are the peolpe most often hit.

Your blatant racism is sad, but I'm not going to blame it on you. I'll blame it on your ignorance. You probably didn't get a chance to finish school, clearly indicated by your poor grammar. That's all. Have a good one

These sting operations, done in the name of public safety, are all about making money for the PD and cities. Expect more as budgets continue to shrink.

This is better than rewarding bad behavior like the government has been doing. Besides, obey the law, you will be fine.

I wish the law was made clearer by the press and the police agencies if they really cared about "educating" the public. I think most people believe the rule is the ped needs to clear the xwalk completely, which is pretty silly when 1. the street is very wide and it is clearly safe to drive past; 2. the ped walks very slow when they could move at a "normal" speed and clear the xwalk (yes, for some reason too many kids smugly stroll across the street as if daring you to run the down).

I'm afraid we will see many more of these educational sting operations in the future as cities try to generate more taxes in the guise of educating the public.

so just cus you ****, have money to pay for the tickets makes it right to continue to break traffic laws? if you have that much money, how about getting those slanted eyes of yours, surgically fixed to look like the rest of us normal eyed people? maybe youll see better on the road and avoid cutting people off, and changing lanes with out using turn signals or looking if there is a car on the lane over.
I love this one...
