I had the pleasure of teaching those two boys in middle school. If all the students had half the drive and determination of these boys you would have a line of people wanting to be teachers. Two, you would not have a discussion of schools that are failing or the high drop out rate. Those boys came to school to learn and came ready to work.

To the Recinos Family, there are many who I have met along my path in this life, but only a few have made an impact as you all have. It is truly inspiring to see that Karen, Freyman, and Jeison have done so well academically, as well as the other things you all do beyond that in life. Thank you for all taking the time to invest in getting to know me. In turn I have found more out about your family and know that this Native guy from a reservation in Northern Minnesota who never would have believed himself to get the opportunity to be at UCLA and meet a great friend like Jeison can see dreams come true through his life and thus your families lives. I continue to be a hardworker and that was reinforced by seeing your children work very hard to accomplish, what perhaps us that come from little beginnings never thought was possible. Inmer will fall in place and your children will all continue on your teachings as well as Manuel's name and story.
