The irony of razing a historical structure that sits WITHIN the grounds of a learning institution which can serve as an educational resource baffles me. And to just expand a swimming pool no less. It goes to show that school administrators really do have their heads somewhere else.
Kudos to all those who fought to bring some common sense to the school "officials." |

I went to San Marion High School and remember the adobe well. I have been there as recently as two years ago for my son baseball games againts San Marino. That building is a treasure and should remain where it is for future people to see. I never remember tour of it even back when I went to school there in the late 1970s. All I think it was used for was storage. It has lastest this long and can last much longer. So saying that it is in bad shape sounds like a way for the school board to try and get it removed. It was there before the high school and the high has operated fine with it there since 1952. I say leave it be and restore it.

This is one of the oldest structures in southern California. It is absurd that the thought of demolishing it is even under consideration. With just a little creative thinking, it can be put to good re-use either at it's current location or at another site.
