If Ron Paul is elected as President in 2012 or 2016, he will pardon Bernard von NotHaus for crime of counterfeiting. Both Ron Paul and Bernard von NotHaus support the idea of currency backed by value of gold and silver. The fact is that Bernard von NotHaus is founder of Inflation Proof Currency (Liberty Dollar) which is backed by value of gold and silver. So Ron Paul will do as President is to pardon Bernard von NotHaus, if he is elected in 2012 or 2016?

They convicted an innocent man. His silver and gold medallions clearly were not fake US coins because they were made of silver and gold, they never read (U.S.) or (In God We Trust), they were not marked with any common U.S. coin symbols, or images of U.S. Presidents, the website stated CLEARLY that the silver and gold were not U.S. currency, but rather a private voluntary barter currency. He posted a statement he received from the attorney general and the US Mint that there was no law against him creating his certificates and medallions since they were not pretending to be U.S. currency and all of his literature CLEARLY stated that these were not U.S. currency. He went to great lengths to make it clear that these certificates and medallions were not worthless pieces of zinc and copper and worthless paper. All of the NORFED money was gold and silver and the paper certificates were redeemable for gold and silver. It is tragic and shameful that 12 idiots could be duped by these prosecutors. Statesville will forever be remembered as the place that produced 12 idiots ignorant enough to convict Bernard. That's quite a legacy.

He tried to get it in 1988 too.
He tried to get it in 2008 too.
Guess we all know about 2012 by now.
3 strikes.
Some probaly think they should've went with Ron Paul instead of Mitt Romney.
Who knows? Maybe he could've beat Obama. Guess we'll never know.
But 2016?
He'll be 81.
The oldest person ever elected U.S. president was Reagan at 69.
I say if he feels up to it ... go for it.
