No Fox Channel in the new year?

The new year will ring in many things, but perhaps not much "Glee," "Dohs!," Kobe Bryant or the Sugar Bowl, if you're a Time Warner Cable subscriber. Full Story

Greedy Time Warner needs to know that they have to share in the profits! This behavior is nothing new, they have been doing this for years. They don't seem to care about the customers much. I guess it's all about money.

It's not about $1 per customer. It's 300% MORE than what Time Warner was previously being charged by Fox. It's a RIDICULOUS fee hike. How would you like it if every network did that? And your cable bill TRIPLED?

So this isn't about Fox. And this isn't only a $1 issue. This is a bigger issue. This happened last year with a couple of the networks and it got sorted out.

TWC was spun off from TWX last year. Last it was Viacom. This year it's Fox. Neither company would benefit from a blackout. I'm with TWC. Somebody needs to say enough is enough. Maybe News Corp could buy TWC to own the content and distribution pipeline. Don't know why TWX spun off TWC and now Comcast is buying NBC Universal. It didn't work for TWX but, Comcast thinks it would work for them.

Gee, the writer of this article thinks that Charter Communications is a competitor of TWC. Please tell me one area were these two companies compete. Okay, they could compete to buy assets from a third party but, they don't compete for customers. Actually, TWC and Charter work together to retain customers. Maybe the writer should have noted DrecTV as the competitor.

Fox has great sports and Hell's Kitchen, why would anyone be happy about losing that?

Maybe I missed it... but what's the downside other than not losing Fox News, which should be off the air anyways for its horrible coverage of anything?

This is horrible, what are all the Fox freaks going to do, maybe go out and by a new TV set or get a converter, and get the freaky Fox over the air.

The explaination that was offered here, in the Tampa Bay area, is that Fox is not being compensated for it's use by Brighthouse.

Both sides have been airing their side of the story over their various stations, urging viewers to get involved, log on to their web sites, etc.

The bottom line is starting to look like some sort of build up to an excuse to raise prices on cable...

well if abc, cbs, fox and other channels do go as cable channels, then they should stop chopping up movies and cutting out the good parts, because as long as these networks and syndicated channels and superstations become cable, then they should show movies as they are presented and not chop them up.

I've been following this thing fairly closely, even tho I ditched TWC for Verizon last summer.

When channels go dark, nobody wins. And the ppl who are fed up with Time Warner's nonsense will just switch to another provider.

FiOS is taking over Glendora; it's clearly the better service!

Only Charter Cable on my side of Whittier. Verizon slowed down or stopped deployment of FIOS because of the recession in most areas of Southern California. Whats funny is we still get the ads saying to switch to FIOS and Verizon told me in December of 08 that it would be on this side of Whittier by December of 09 and that has yet to take place.
