So does this mean bar owners(old town to be specific) and liquor store owners will be charged as well when someone else dies? The person taking the drink unless held down and forced has to be responsible.

Wow...such a harsh penatly. You get fined more littering than you do for supplying alcohol to a minor (not to mention that the kid died).

It would be wise to prosecute the "ADULTS" that made the LIQUOR purchase for the "MINOR".Or find out what liquor stores are selling to "MINORS" .I don`t believe anyone "FORCED" the male kid to drink. He was just keeping up with his POPULARITY and it showed the community his true image .I won`t kiss butt here !

As a society we encourage this kind of behavior. Now we are going to hang this girl out to dry for it. Donít think so. THIS IS WRONG! I am sorry he died. But he is responsible for his own actions. He decided to go to the party, he decided to drink. Just like many of us did. So much so, it is part of American culture. Like it or not. One life ruined, letís ruin another. Also the American way. Somebody has to go down for this. Altadena Woman? She's a kid!

He couldn't handle his liquid. Should have stayed in school instead.

An 18 year old girl's name does not need to be in the paper for misdemeaner alcohol distribution. This article does nothing but destroy the life of a young girl who made the same mistake as the majority of teenagers in this city.

We may think of 18-year-olds as kids, but the fact is this young woman is an adult in the eyes of the law, and her name is a matter of public record. I doubt that having her name in the paper will screw her life up nearly as much as living with the knowledge that another kid died at her illegal party.

This is tragic all around--so much idiotic behavior by young people who are trying so hard to be cool and grown up, without being mature enough to comprehend the consequences of their actions.

An 18-year-old girl choosing to serve alcohol illegally at a party, someone either buying it for her or selling it to her illegally, she and her friends advertising this party to total strangers online, the boy thinking it would be a good idea to attend a party thrown by total strangers and drink to the point of alcohol poisoning, the friends who didn't realize how much danger the boy was really in until it was too late--all so stupid and tragic.
