Bill Speaks Truth quoted Bill Molinari:
"Because of restricted habitat and utility easements and are inaccessible for public use.

This doesn't help with out severe shortage of land for recreational uses"

I already touched on how "restricted habitat" does not need to be severely restricted or inaccessible.
THE GNATCATCHERS LIKE PEOPLE

As to the Utility easements.
SCE Easement is already being used for Mall overflow parking at its NE side.

The Right of way along east side of Montebello Blvd and then North of the Chevron Station Could be used.
Montebello has several parks on power-line easements.
The real question here is co-uses with the active oilfield.
The donut plan has a BIG HOLE
and nothing needs to be done
The land is already zoned appropriately

Some people have difficulty in seeing the difference between their own personal best interest and the city's best interest. Like past council majorities that apparently nearly bankrupted the city and caused deep indebtedness for both residents and the city for personal gain, current residents and councilmembers sometimes act in their own personal best interests, possibly thinking that what is good for them is also good for the city.
You cannot change the way people think in one election, and the council reflects the will of the people. Therefore, it is difficult to get a council that acts together even at the best of times, like the 2009 election.
Elections aren't what changes people. If we depend on the electoral system to make a change, we won't have change. We must depend on the people to take responsibility for how they act. Spirited debate is one thing. Gossip and anger is not democratic. And if it is, then maybe that's what's wrong with our country.

Wow. This thread really shows me that there is a lot of issues in Montebello that go from the top down to the citizens. How do we expect the elected officials to work together in the best interest of the city when the citizens themselves don't seem to know how to interact peacefully with each other? This is sad. It definitely gets to change. From the bottom, up.

"What will be the future of the Montebello Hills?"

"As we decide on one of the largest and most important projects in Montebello's history, it is critically important to consider all of the facts about potential uses
BECAUSE THERE ARE NO 'DO-OVERS""

The "NO PROJECT" project is the BEST project.
Leave the Zoning the way it is

Montebello Forward is right on track. Kudos to the fearless mother and daughter who have attended the council meetings and provided so many factual accounts of brazen ethical violations by mayor Christina Cortez, her minions, and the candidates she is running that will bring down this city. These two ladies should be applauded for their hard work for the community.

Montebello Foreword needs to speak.
So far they are AWOL

Why would the Surface rights have to be "purchased".
Just do the "no Project" option and leave the land zoned for open space and oil production.
Oil Company's clean up costs would be much less for open space and passive parks than for "structures for human occupancy (condos).
The future liability for Freeport would also be much less.
Cook-Hill is not currently ENTITLED to do ANY PROJECT.
It is important that they receive NO ENTITLEMENTS as ENTITLEMENTS would make the land very valuable.

There are NO OBSTICLES in preserving the Montebello Hills in their natural state.

Trash talk posted this in the How Safe is it to Live on Top of 300 Oil Wells" Thread
Works better here

Bill Molinari put's it in writing
"Residential Development with Continued Oil Production"
"The residential development the Cook-Hill Specific Plan proposes includes continued pumping of oil on part of the property."
"If this option is considered the most critical concern must be "Can you safely build a residential community in the midst of a working oil field"

Experience elsewhere says NO WAY"

Bill make a significant oversight
He says
If the environmental concerns can be successfully addressed (which they can't), the next question is

what Project or No Project makes the most sense, and ECONOMIC sense for the people of Montebello.

Residential development (CONCOS) is not gainsaid

At the last few council meetings,'Mama Forward' criticized the Mayor for saying bad things about Montebello that supposedly cost the city money in extra interest because they brought bad attention to the city.

Isn't that exactly what 'Montebello's Backside'(to use WGO's appelation) is doing to Montebello? Aren't they saying bad things about Montebello that make the city look bad to potential lenders?

What's next for that crazy duo?

What factual accounts? I haven't heard any from these individuals. Instead I have heard hostility, false statements and negativity toward our beloved city of Montebello. Forget not that one of these individuals has already flip flopped on the subject of the long overdue rate raise by the city's water company. Whose purpose is it that they are serving?

Does "Who you kidding" write Montebello foreword's harangues for performance at City Council meetings or is it cook-Hill or are they the same?
That last speech was an embarrassment, incoherent, unorganized.
Montebello Foreword needs the credibility of posting their positions here not hiding behind some shill,
One level of shill indirection is quite enough, thank you

As stated earlier, reportedly Montebello Forward Mama is doing what she accused the Mayor of doing: Making accusations about city of Montebello elected officials that put the city in a bad light, thus causing bond issuers to make the city pay higher interest, costing the city money.

Mama Forward (now going Backwards) suggested that the Mayor should forfeit her salary until the money she owes was repaid. Will Mama Backwards do the same? Will Baby Backwards help her Mama by doing the same? Will their corporate (alleged developer) sponser help their minions? When will the city get the first check?

In his latest Factual flyer Bill uses the term "executive homes and estate sized lots"

Bill- do not further confuse the issue.
Cook-Hill's condo plan contains NO SUBDIVISION
There are going to be "Custom Estate Lots"
NO LOTS as we know them.
The deluxe Townhomes and Courtyard homes are NOT
R1 residences.
There are Just "Air Rights" held "in Condominium".
No Parcels- "Air Rights" just give "Spaces"
as in "Spaces" in a campground or trailer park.
Cook-Hills propaganda says "
"Custom Estate Lots"

What do you say Montebello Foreword?

Look kiddies, the city is going to pot and people like Cortez, Barajas, and Molinari are bringing it there even faster.

Well, CRFlower, I guess web crawler may have a point. However, Ridiculous may have done you a favor by giving you a list of those who use facts, verifiable information, and rational arguements, things his posts show he obviously is unable to cope with.

However, you can see the difference between most (but not all) of the posts from those who want to civilly discuss objectively verifiable facts from the above rumor mongerers.

The civil people don't engage in personal attacks, unfounded gossip or nitpicking as their main tactics, instead discussing important, substantive, and difficult subjects that there is much confusion about.

Look to those who can give searchable locations where information can be found, or links, for what is really happening in Montebello.

Finally, CRF, don't allow yourself to be bullied or intimidated by the corrupt, cowardly, or uncouth. Clean government is here in Montebello, but it will only be here as long as the people watch their city leaders and keep informed on city matters.

Ridiculous IS
I have NEVER SUPPORTED CORTEZ
however she has split with the Police and Fire Unions- which is a good thing
No Longer has Chris Robles on board
(not necessarily a bad thing but Chris's consulting contracts give him and therefore Christina, Conflicts, Chris did a hell of a job for the Trash Haulers).
Hopefully Billie Martinez is long gone back under a rock.
Ku used her, has she figured that our?
Jack is much more dangerous as his Positions, agenda, and backers are stealth.

Now for your main wrong statement.
The City has ALREADY gone to pot, bottoming out end of 2009.
Molinari, Barajas, Frank and even Cortez kept the city out of bankruptcy.
I do not see where thy have been profligate spenders. There is no money to go on another spending spree and the previous administration effectively ruined the city's credit rating.
But City is still in deep debt, paycheck to paycheck cash flow- no money to do anything.
The condo project is a "Money Pit"

What does Jack want for Montebello's future?
What does Montebello foreword want, what are they getting?
What are you getting?
Who are you kidding

Have you read the writing on the wall? I received a mailer from Gallarzo who Cortez is supporting along with Hernandez and who she gave big donations to. The mailer is classic Chris Robles. So Truth Squad, you are providing some "untruths". Ku has donated "cash" to their campaigns, which will never be traced, in return for developing part of Whittier Blvd. Teague of the car dealership on Whittier Blvd has also thrown in a few bucks wanting the police car repair contract. Sevacherian (Isn't the city in litigation with him?) too is the rumor. All of this has been orchestrated via Cortez. Talk about pay to play. The second coming of Payan? The city is still spinning towards bankruptcy due to future costs (long term indebtedbness). As for the Hills project, everyone on this blog is simply guessing as to it being a "money pit". Who really knows. Certainly it can't hurt as bad as what Molinari has done over 30 years in stopping the development of Whittier and Beverly Blvds. Heh, the streets look almost the same as they did in 1985. So get a clue "UnTruth Squad" and listen to the facts.

How appropriate that someone like Ridiculous would complain about supporting an ethical person who has nothing to ashamed about. Entirely in character.

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive."

Isn't this a list of potential libel suits? Topix has an internet reputation of turning over faster than a dog with fleas when presented with the slightest of subpoenas or writs for plaintiffs to find out who is writing what.

Ask not for whom the bell tolls.
