These hotel workers are lucky to keep their jobs. WHY should they be entitled to more than the average person working...because of union backing? The union is protecting this industry no matter what the circumstances. If you pay union dues, you are entitled to a free ride courtesy of the people. The average person who works for minimum wage does not get this privilege, why should a union worker? How is the average person who works for minimum wage protected? They take their employer to court and you have to be a legal citizen to do that.(Unclean hands) Thanks for protecting the person who really has to struggle for a living and is legal!

Support this measure. It is honorable and just.
With the exorbitant profits in the luxury hotel business they can afford. Fat Cat big corp in the high end Hotel business has been abusing housekeeping staff forever. These maids are meek, humble and hard workers. The salt of the earth.
What are we talking about, a few more thousand dollars a year per maid, allowing them to breath a little easier.
I love how people who want to take money out of others pockets at the point of a government gun like to say, "it is honorable and just," and in this instance, usually because they got drunk one night, back-doored some mexican maid in a fit of drunken perversion, listened to the maid cry about her last miscarriage, and vow to do something about it in the comments section of topix.

Once again, let me repeat, quit telling other people how they should manage their money, you miserable piece of human shittt. If you want to be a thug, go out on the street yourself and do your own dirty work. Don't use the government as proxy for your fantasy of controlling the financial choices of others, you freak.

"Communism" and "redistribution" are just words you psychotics use for "thug rule," and "shakedown."

You have no business in modern civilization. I suggest you move to Mexico, where your sense of economic inevitability is in full swing.

Die.

Perhaps Big Hotel could get a pass were they to cozy up to the politicians by putting their money where their mouth is. Hard working Big Coffee servers - many of whom are single moms - labor serving grossly overpriced coffee in the local coffee shop industry for slave wages, depending on token tips from trendy but stingy tobacco-free bicycle drivers to feed their starving babies. Yet, Big Politicians ignore their plight. Why is it so hard for Big Hotel operating in Long Beach to learn that lesson?
