I hope the woman gets the help she needs and pray the child wasn't witness to the violent behavior of the creep that beat his mother. District Attorney's Office should use every power at his disposal to make sure this guy doesn't see the light of day for a very, very long time.

Unfortunately, Mr. Gerue, will get "help", only not the beatings to get his "mind right" that would resolve his issues with women.
Perhaps in the future, his victim will be able to recognize the behavior patterns in other potential "boyfriends" before she dives headfirst into cohabitation with a lowlife scumbag loser like Mr. Gerue.
One can only hope that Mr. Gerue will be passed around Butte County Jail like a ping-pong ball. Seems fitting for the likes of him. And no, I don't "feel guilty" for wishing Mr. Gerue "ill", he's a piece of human debris, like all males who abuse women. There is simply no excuse for such behavior, none at all. When you want to date a "bad boy", this IS what you should expect from the "bad boys" like Mr. Gerue. It's what THEY do.

I was one of the ones that left with my two year old. Thank God, I did. I stayed strong, met someone new, a man that raised my child as his own, coached his teams, stayed up nights with me when he was sick, put his through college and loved him as his own. My son has not seen his father in 32 years, but recently found out he has a sister. The horror she tells of life with my ex is hard for us to hear. She hasn't seen or talked to her father in years and yes, he beat her mother too.
I hope this woman in Chico, finds the strength to stay away from this vicious man. So many go back to that lifestyle. She escaped alive. May this be the beginning of a new life for her and her son!

This is exactly why you want an aggressive prosecutor in the DA's office. This creep needs to have the book thrown at him. Mike Ramsey would. We need to have this guy put away so he can't abuse others.

My x-wife married this black dude she met on some dating site. I remember getting a call from him in her behalf, threatening and belittling me over child custody issues. The message was left on my recorder and that is where I left it as I chose to ignore it. Later on he held my x captive for a week. He had beat on her so I assume that he wanted the bruises to heal.
She then refused to testify against him and chose to ignore it.
