Hello, I would like to know if you are accepting applications at the new casino that is going to be opening in Aqueduct. If so, how can I become a part of that? Please answer as soon as possible, Thank you.

quote: "The Shinnecock Indian Nation and Nassau County are close to signing a memorandum of understanding that could lead to the tribe buying and developing about 40 acres of county land for a casino adjacent to the Nassau Coliseum, people briefed on the plan said."

looks like nassau county will be getting a casino up by the coliseum. if the coliseum stays, that will be a pretty big entertainment area.

A Casino on Long Island is LONG overdue. We need the jobs desperately and think of all the people who will stay ON Long Island instead of giving spending our money in Connecticut and New Jersey. It is time to think about Long Islands economy. Come on elected officials. Get this thing rolling NOW!!!!

Great. Unemployment is over 9%, incomes are static or declining for a majority of workers, people are cutting back on everything due to the economy, so let's open more casinos for people to lose their shirts.

Gambling is for suckers.

gambling at large casino's is for entertainment purposes.
some people, myself included, enjoy nice restaurants and going to the shows/concerts that some casino's offer.
spending 100-200 dollars at a casino is still cheaper than going to a ballgame, the circus, the theatre, etc...

the gambling for suckers that your talking about is the poor people betting on the numbers, lottery, anyway to make a quick buck...i agree with that.
but the people who do have money and want to go out and have fun, good for them.
bet with your head, not over it...bring a certain amount of money that you want to spend, and just stick with it.
i can't wait for aqueduct to open, then belmont to follow...

In Calif, the leftist Legislature has allowed welfare benefit cards to be used at casinos. Is your Left doing that to tax payers?

i find that hard to believe...but if it's true, everyone should write or call their legislature representative and ask for it to be stopped. then i would find out who in the calif government approved this, and have them FIRED.
that is another reason to end ALL WELFARE benefits after six months.
if you can't get your act together after six month, you'll never get it together....

You DO know that IF Long Island EVER wakes up and gets a casino going, it will create hundreds of jobs. Just to mention a few:
Road Construction
Carpenters
Electricians
Restaurant Workers (cooks, wait people, cleaners)
Hotel workers (Desk, cleaners, valet', etc...)
Casino workers ( management, dealers, cleaners, floor people. etc.. etc...etc....)
Imagine the HUNDREDS of people who spend their money going to shows, restaurants, and casinos in New Jersey, PA, CT actually STAYING ON LONG ISLAND and spending the money HERE.
The NIMBYS who are against this are the people who sit at home and watch TV night after night.
A CASINO ON LONG ISLAND IS OVER DUE AND WOULD BE PARAMOUNT TO CREATING JOBS AND KEEPING REVENUE ON LONG ISLAND. Oh my GOD, could you imagine???????

Worth Repeating. The jobs and money that would stay on Long Island would be BIG. Why do you think Atlantic City and CT always fight to keep casinos OFF of Long Island? They know a large percentage of their dollars comes from Long Islanders.

Elected Officials: Enough with this "being on the table". Get this moving NOW. It will Revitalize Long Island the way it has revitalized PA.

I just have to repeat:

Looks like New York FINALLY got a governor with enough sense to see the jobs that will be created by finally putting casinos on Long Island. Thank You Cuomo for keeping the jobs and revenue HERE. I just hope you do it quickly. AC and CT are going to lose BIG time while NY will finally benefit. Now the thousands of people who leave Long Island every day to have fun in the casinos in other states, can finally have a local casino.

Just came from an illegal club on Long Island where there were over EIGHTY people playing and it's like that every night. And there are numerous clubs that are crowded every night. BRING IT ON CUOMO.

Stopped in yesterday afternoon to check this place out. It is very nice. I asked one of the girls behind the counter if she was glad this place opened. She said, "Are you kidding? Look at all the jobs this place created." Now if they make it a full casino (the electronic table games are not the same as REAL table games) and put a poker room, this place will be a HOME RUN.
