I am 56 years old and have been taking Alendronate for a year now and was shocked when I heard the news this morning. I am discontinuing the use of Alendronate and will look for a more organic methods that will give me better results. If there are any recommendations please let me know.

Any medication that came out in the last decade is full of bogus literature of the clinical trials used by pharmaceutical companies to dump their poison on the public.

In the recent past it has been noted that bisphosphonates, which includes Fosamax, may cause thigh bone fracture after being used for a long-time although the link has not been fully established. http://www.fosamaxfemurfracturelawsuit.com/

In 2007, a study conducted by the University of British Columbia and the Vancouver Health Research Institute found out that taking Fosamax and other bisphosphonates almost triple the risk of developing bone necrosis or osteonecrosis.Similarly, DePuy hip replacements are also found out to be defective. The webpage http://www.rotlaw.com/depuy-asr/ discusses this matter in a comprehensive manner.

Medical studies have suggested that prolonged used of bisphosphonates, an active ingredient of Fosamax, puts a patient at high risk of atypical fractures. However, it is highly advisable that you consult your doctor first before stopping drug intake. Bone fractures could lead to bone replacement surgeries and one of the popular surgery of such is the hip replacement surgery. But hip replacement in itself has many complications. You could read mor about it here http://www.depuyhipreplacementlawsuit.com .

Both the FDA and Merck claim that more research is needed for the link between Fosamax and bone fractures. However this topic is really a big debate in many Fosamax lawsuits. See http://www.rotlaw.com/fosamax/

The FDA should consider conducting a thorough study on the side effects of fosamax.I hope it will not wait for other victims to come out in the open.they should also initiate in ascertaining the truth of the matter. http://www.fosamaxfemurfracturelawsuit.com/fe...

It seems like the FDA and Merck are working on some kind of study. They're always coming out with some new information, like the recent news that long term use can cauase fractures. Maybe that will help us determine if Fosamax is safe for anyone, and if so, whom. So many people have complained of spontaneous femur fractures, and beign on Fosamax. We are investigating a number of those claims and would be happy to share information. http://www.anapolschwartz.com/practices/Fosam...

Study results from early and emerging researchers suggest a possible link between the occurrence of femur or thighbone fractures at a standing height or less and the use of Fosamax on a long-term basis. There are other adverse effects that have also been linked to Merck's blockbuster drug. Related material at http://www.fosamax-lawsuit.net may be of great help.

Unfortunately, there’s been an upswing in women suffering atypical breaks in the femur – the thighbone is normally a pretty strong bone – after several years of taking the drug; some of the women had merely been walking when their leg suddenly snapped. This unusual type of fracture is slow to heal and can lead to disability. You may also refer at http://www.fosamaxfemurfracturelawsuit.com for more information.

There is recent information that the Food and Drug Administration has conducted an investigation about the safety and effectiveness of Fosamax, after it has been found to cause unusual incidence of femur fractures in women. Many patients and doctors have raised question about the effects of long-term use of Fosamax, which is said to potentially bring about these problems to women. Long-term use of Fosamax, as well as other bisphosphonates, carries the risk of severe complications. This is why medical experts are now recommending that Fosamax be taken for awhile and then discontinued after three to five years, before taking the medication again as needed based on regular bone scans. http://www.fosamaxclassaction.us/femur-fractu...
