South Milwaukee municipal codes allow for the use of outdoor fire pits. Our neighbors uses these fire pits and we have problems with the smoke coming in our house. At times there are five outdoor fire pits burning within one block. I am curious if anyone else in South Milwaukee or other places have problems with outdoor fire pits and the smoke going into their homes. Please share your thoughts and experiences.

Oh quit your complaining. People like to sit outside on a nice warm, quiet evening and sit by a fire. Try is sometime. Its great for relaxation.

A safe evening fire is nice... unless you have asthma, or unless you really don't want the inside of your house smelling like wood smoke in the middle of summer. At least fireplaces have a chimney so the smoke is released higher than the houses. Smoke from a fire pit can float at ground level through the neighborhood, and then you either have breathing problems, a smelly house, or sleep in the heat (because you shut your windows).

Have some consideration for your neighbors. If you don't want to care about neighbors, move to the far suburbs and get a big yard.
