Gotta love the DA and their astute perceptions and insight. Anyone paying for that toilet tissue needs their heads looked at. They are supposed to covering local news, yet all they cover is junk fed to them and they print it. It would be amazing if they ever followed up on the whisper and got the facts. Guess that would be real journalism, though. When it comes to any real news, The Virginian Pilot always has our local news before the DA. If you like to read the daily gossip you buy the DA. But seldom do they get it right.

Who are they kidding? If people on the inside of local and state government were not making money off of the taxpayer these construction projects would not happen. It has everything to do with getting more motorists were they can spend money not traffic tie-up. While using taxpayer money to get it done. The fact that they are destroying the quality of life and polluting the environment with over development means nothing.

Went to Virginia today and was tiedup with road construction. Guess there is money to burn in NC. Why have they decided to blacktop 158, especially now in the middle of the summer season?

I am can't understand the resurfacing of 158 on the way to the beach. The pavement appeared fine. I understand it has to be done in hot weather but the road should have been in need of paving.

Ths is a problem that is tiered. When politicians appropriate money for projects or approve zoning laws a lot of the time it because offices such as the planning department have developed some very official looking (and detailed) papers that seem to give the appearance that the subject is a real problem and needs addressing. The politcians then take it as gospel. Suddenly we have things we don't need. But the politicans feel good because they have handled an important situation. Yeah, right.

Follow the money. We need to shut down these thiefs at both the local and state level.
