Utah Megaplex Not Feelin' 'Zack and Miri'

There are 24 comments on the The Record story from Oct 31, 2008, titled Utah Megaplex Not Feelin' 'Zack and Miri'. In it, The Record reports that:

Is Utah Jazz and Megaplex Theaters owner Larry Miller a prude or a hypocrite? Many critics believe the latter since Miller bans movies with strong sexuality but allows films with graphic violence.

Yeah, LOL. Utah IS a joke! I'm military, and ONLY moved out here for the mountain biking. Thankfully, that's all good.

The entire society out here has an underlying "creepiness" to it...like you know that most of the people are really brainwashed mormons.

I must say...Mormons are the most judgemental, hypoctitical people I've ever met. And once they find out you're NOT mormon, they either shun you, or won't shut the f*ck up about trying to get you to join their "cult".

Their religion isn't even real. I mean c'mon...you people ever read about what they believe in?

And now, it appears LDS people are burning the American Flags that hang on black families porches in Ogden.

Soooo racist out here.

Talk about hypocrites. I don't know of anyone who would advocate that children be taught all about porn, yet the title of the movie forces parents to answer questions children have when they see it. If you want to take your kids to see porn and violence, you can. But I shouldn't be forced to get into all that with my kids if I don't want to, just because some producer gives his movie a graphic title. Maybe if the poster for a violent movie depicted a decapitation for all to see, Larry Miller would ban that too.

My two cents,it's HIS megaplex,he owns it,he decides what is shown. I'd like to see this movie because it's a comedy and I love comedies, but it doesn't anger me that this guy doesn't want it shown in his theater. It is his property.

Honestly, the movie is a romantic movie. Yes it is about two people deciding to make a porno, but it has a great story and great jokes. Although I understand not wanting to show children anything that will cause them to ask questions, but it is rated R. That means 18 and over. No children will be watching this movie, unless the movie theaters dont watch who goes in and gets tickets. There is so much controversy about the "porno" in the name. Is it really that big of a deal? 9 out of 10 times, the kids are going to be begging for a particular movie anyways, like Madagascar 2. Kids find the animated, and seem to stay there.

And to be honest, it really only shows a womens chest and a mans butt. That is the only nudity in the movie. Which means is could be rated pg 13.
Just Like the notebook, which has a more dirty sex scene then this movie. Yet it is pg 13 so no one said anything.

Talk about being hypocritical.
